| struggling to get my yorkie to eat I'm a new puppy owner of my yorkie sophie who is now a little over a year old. She was doing good eating science diet puppy food kibble mostly, sometimes had to mix with the science diet canned ID when she seemed to be picky. Now fairly recently can't get her to eat either one just smells it and leaves. So I was told to try Purina pro plan recently, at first she seemed to like it now not so much in the last two days. The vet has checked her out thoroughly and she looks fine. Would really like to keep her on kibble a good quality one and not wet food. I'm at a loss what else to try. I've been told yorkies can be very picky. I would so appreciate any help or suggestions anyone else might have. Thank you very much! |

| I went through that recently with one of my older dogs. I don't have any good advice unfortunately. For us, I had to break down and start mixing a little bit of better quality canned food with the kibble. I pick up the dish after 15 minutes and feed my girls twice a day. Hope you figure something out.

| Welcome to YT You can sprinkle some Parmesan cheese over her food, most dogs love the pungent smell and gets them to eat.

| Royal Canin is amazing for picky eaters especially the Yorkshire Terrier version which is made to taste amazing to picky Yorkies. You might want to try that. I have had two really picky eaters just love it.

| I made the mistake of giving Cookie wet food when I first got her and it was a little bit of pain to get her back on more nutritious dry food. Though she was 14 weeks so I was also worried about low blood sugar. At one year the low blood sugar probably wouldn't be a problem (would it?). I also feed Royal Canin and Cookie loves it. But as long as she thought she could get me to feed her wet food she'd act stuck up about her dried food until I just put only the dry Royal Canin out. I still give her wet food for special occasions though, and when I want to ensure she has a full stomach for her Trifexis.
