| Way to measure Pee Volume Hi All, Wondering if there is a way to measure the amount of pee out put when the dog goes on the pee pad. I am ready to pull my hair out with Thumper if it is not one thing it is another. His gash and back strain are all healed but now he is not peeing outside and only on the pee pads. He is drinking plenty of water as I see on the camera but nothing like before. He use to pee like a river every time I took him out or have constant accidents in the house. Now he will only pee small spurts on the pee pad and during the evening pee more. I am trying to find out how much he is actually peeing so I can monitor it. I have measured his water intake and he use to drink 4-8 cups a day now when I am at work will drink 2-3 1/2 cups or less. On the weekends sometimes more. I have a dog walker take him out twice a day and I walk him also so he goes out plenty. even when taking away the pee pads he will just pee where they were before. I don't want to go to another vet visit as I have already been there 5 times this past month and its damn expensive. His poop is also formed but soft. (Even Bella is having that issue) I am giving them FortiFlora and Pumpkin and starting him on cranberry as well to avoid a UTI. Trying all natural remedies as I don't want to put him on any more meds if I can help it. So after this long rant back to my original question is there a way to determine the amount of pee on a pad? When I work I have to use pads and when I sleep he will not wait for the morning as he was trained on pads. Ugh I am exhausted and frustrated. I want him as healthy as possible. All else he eats fine, plays with his bone, sleeps and licks Bella all the time. His normal routine. He just will no longer pee outside (only marking small spurts) and is is drinking a smaller volume in water drinking and peeing.

| Unless he is straining to go or there is blood in it I'm sure he is fine. If its that important, what if you put some kind of tray where his pee pad is and then you could see how much he is peeing.

| Pee volume depends on your dog's breed and age. Smaller or younger dogs go potty more frequently but less than larger breeds and older dogs. The average healthy dog will produce approximately 10 to 20 ml of urine for each pound of body weight per day. Ideally, adult dogs should be allowed outside to relieve themselves at least 3-5 times a day. If a dog has some problems in peeing, he would perform certain symptoms such as straining, dribbling or leaking urine, and discolored urine. And you need to sent it to the vet asap. | Thanks for the info. I just overly worry about Thumper his behavior in how he poops and pees has changed in the past month very drastically. When we go for walks he will only mark and barely go outside. Does not matter how long the walk is. Now he only uses solely pee pads. Hard to tell the concentration as it is not a dark yellow like his sister Bella or how much he is peeing. He is also definately drinking less water but enough to stay hydrated. He use to drink and pee much more. (Like a river the minute we went outside for a walk. I could fill a whole cup with his pee) Its so hard to tell if I am over reacting or if this is something new medically. I am just so use to the way he use to be. He does not strain and there is no blood in the urine I can see. In addition his poop is much softer but formed at least. Both him and Bella are having this issue. Her poop is a little more firm and formed than him. Food has stayed the same but I have recently changed their supplements. I now have them on the following supplements in addition to their food. Thumper 1 packet of FortiFlora a day 1 capsule of Fish Oil a day 1 glucosamine treat a day 1 cranberry treat a day Pumpkin 2x a day 5 mg Enaparil 2x a day 10 mg of Veteroyl 1x a day Bella 1 packet of FortiFlora a day 1 capsule of Fish Oil a day 1 cranberry treat a day Pumpkin 2x a day
