So Hills caught lying and more to the recall

They simply added the new lot #'s on their website and did not make any one aware - no posts about it, no emails to those feeding their food, no veterinary announcements, etc. In other words, supposedly everything is all fine and dandy so the people who needed to feed these foods continued doing so trusting Hills word for it and then were not informed that there were MORE lot #'s recalled. They are expected to go check the website every day for themselves? I personally don't want to feed a food that I may have to worry about over the next 6 months - 1 year so much that I have to check lot #'s to ensure I don't have a recalled formula. I am not loyal enough to one particular brand but I completely understand for those have have pups who NEED these specific foods and cannot thrive on anything else. I'd be in a dilemma if that were the case.

I personally find the way this has been handled to be just as shady as Champion, Merrick, etc and things they have done in the past few years. AND it's RX food which makes a huge difference in why my opinion is so strong. Some pups lives DEPEND on these foods. Recalls happen, I have never been one to completely write off a company due to a recall. I don't like the way this one went down and that's just my opinion.

EVERY vet I have ever spoken with or people I know that work at vets office honestly find keeping food there to be a pain in the butt lol. It's not even hardly worth their time but they keep it there for clients who NEED it.

For awhile my vet only stocked the regular version of my food (we use small breed due to the smaller pieces because Callie is picky on piece size) but now they usually have one bag in stock all the time. I just was having them order it and get it from them. They had an issue with their system once and had no issue writing a script so I could get it from chewy but it was the same price.

Very discouraging and does not give me much confidence. My dog is dependent on the rx diets so my reaction is probably more intense.

As are mine. I asked my vet if he had seen any sick
dogs or knew of any .... negative.. My pups are thruving..not changing a thing.

Come on. A food is not given for vomiting or any of the other symptoms of toxicity. Think about what you are saying!

To each his own. If any of my pups get sick i go to the vet. I wouldnt check Hills recall list. I dont kniw for a fact they handled it poorly...im sure as helll not taking the word of the "truth" website. When the FDA calls them out I will take notice.

I feed Thumper Hills K/D Diet and he loves it. I would gladly switch to Royal Canine but Thumper does not like the chicken dry kibble so I give him the lamb version the Hill's offer.

I looked into Royal Canine and unfortunately for kidney disease they only offer chicken for dry kibble.

Luckily he has no issues with the foodand it has not been recalled. If Bella ever needs to go on prescription food I will first try Royal over Hills and hopefully she will like the taste.

Oh I totally get that so is Callie. I remember before they diagnosed her and got her on a prescription food she was soooo sick. I don’t know what I would do if something like this happened with Royal Canin prescription food.

Actually many dogs put on prescription food for food allergies and sensitive stomachs do have vomiting so their owners could have thought it was a flare of their illness or even that they got into something they shouldn’t but that wasn’t toxic. I think some symptoms could be seen as other stuff. Like I said if their personal vets diagnosed it as the vitamin toxicity I have to believe them.

Just keep your eye out for symptoms or issues because at this point if one of their other foods had issues then I have doubts if they would let the public know. Have you looked into Purina prescription foods?

Then forget about the website and look at the fact that they listed it on their recall list but never made any kind of announcement or public statement. That is shady and deceiving. Waiting for the FDA is a joke how many FDA approved things have killed, made sick or even left people with lasting issues.

I can't believe you are saying such a thing. You really only know what those holistic folks are posting. Please show me somewhere that someone like the FDA called Hill's out for the lying you say they are doing.
