| Intro: unintentional new Yorkie mix Laurel is most likely a Chihuahua/Yorkie cross, although I have not had her DNA tested yet. I didn't know that when I adopted her, but I learn something new about dogs in general and Yorkies in particular every day. She is the light of my life and my whole family right now and even though I had intended to adopt a Chihuahua/Minpin cross and our local animal shelters are so full of Chorkies that the world just sees "yet another one", her temperament and everything I love about her is typical and almost stereotypical Yorkie. I did not know that. I had breed prejudice. I still have very much to learn and in the unlikely event that I am ever in a position to adopt a well bred Yorkie as a second dog, I would jump at the opportunity. As long as Laurel was every bit as thrilled as I was, of course, and she is currently (at about eight months old) so dog-friendly and outgoing that I can't imagine she wouldn't be. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | My daughter adopted a Dachshund/Yorkie mix 2 years ago from a rescue in Pennsylvania. She is tiny and adorable and in my opinion has the best characters from each breed. Apparently there was a mistake made in an improperly closed gate and her “Dorkie” was the result!!! I always tease her about it being a “Dorkie” because it annoys her. Anyway, she is adorable and sweet and the perfect pet for my daughter. She named her Jellybean and calls her Jelly for short. I’m the god mom so if she ever can’t take care of her, I’ve promised to take her home with me. Besides, I love Jellybeans😁😁 |

| We can get so caught up in a name brand dog that we forget about sweet personalities, good dispositions and unconditional love we receive. Just love your little one because she is special. |
