| I use Hills K/D Lamb Dry Food for Thumper. He loves it and the food has helped him a lot.

YT 2000 Club Member | Dog food You are right. Royal Canin is supervised by vet nutritionists. It scares me to see by products listed as ingredients. Ive read reviews where some dogs get fat on it. Between that company and Fromm I think Fromm will work better for my yorkies. Water, pork by products, rice flour, corn grits, corn meal, etc. I am not impressed. Fromm. Turkey, turkey broth, turkey liver, chickpeas, peas, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, salmon oil. Im not a vet but these ingredients look alot better than the Royal Canin. |

| Corn is not bad for dogs. It will not kill them or anything else.

He had pancreatitis back in September and was put on low fat gastro. But he began having chronic diarrhea in December and was diagnosed with IBD. I did have to take him off the Gastro food as I think he is one of those weird dogs that actually has an allergy or intolerance to corn and/or chicken through trial and error. But anywho, after literally a month of diarrhea and every test under the sun and trying a few other foods (including my homecooking).... putting him on RC Selected Protein Whitefish and his poop was 100% normal the next day. We are now 2+ weeks on it and I couldn't be more thrilled to see NORMAL poop! I used to be one of those "rx food haters" but desperate times call for desperate measures. And all of this mess with certain foods causing heart failure because the companies do not do testing or proper quality control has me really understanding and respecting the science that goes into some of these companies. The Hills recall is concerning, for sure. I am not sure how I feel about it. I am disappointed as I thought they had much higher standards and things like this wouldn't get missed but I also realize recalls will happen and I am glad it's voluntarily and that they are catching the problem. It is just kind of a shame because some dogs lives depend on these RX foods.

| That would definitely leave me to believe a corn allergy. Callie can’t do any dairy or it’s just terrible and a nightmare. It’s great you figured it out though.

YT 2000 Club Member | Dog food I cried reading about the dogs who died because of the dog food. We all want the best for our dogs. This forum really helps sharing our experiences. The recall can happen with dog food. |
