| Who says that? So I went to enter somethings in our local fair today. One of them was a dog leash hook I made when I just had three dogs. Well the one in charge of that area was talking about how she lost her dog a few months ago and we were talking about dogs and she said she had, had one with Cushings so I said oh my oldest has Cushings. Then she goes oh well Cushings will kill them. She also listed other issues that dog had which were probably the actual issues that lead to death. But who says that to someone? Like great thanks for telling me my dog is going to die!

| A thoughtless slob whose words were as thoughtless as she is! People who say things like that either never think before speaking or don't care how their words hurt. Ignore her, follow your vet's advice and love that baby with everything you've got and enjoy your time together. That uncouth woman, your sweetie nor any of us or any of our dogs have an expiration date stamped anywhere on the bottom of a foot, even our elder dogs with their sweet little gray eyelashes. So do something really fun, pamper yourself and that baby, try to stamp her and her insensitive, uncaring words from your memory bank and move on! I've heard of dogs living quite long lives with Cushings and dying from complication of their older age first. I'm sorry I didn't know one of your little pack has Cushings. Which was is it, Taylor?

| It is very insensitive to you. I would just take it as that person most likely didn't think or realized how insensitive were her words. She might not meant any malice in saying that, just ignorance and wanted to "warn" you in her own way. But in reality, she doesn't know your dogs' actual condition. Only the vet does. And if your dog seems to be behaving/functioning ok and is happy, that's all that matters. Cherish your dog and forget negative comments like that. |

| My last girl had cushings for over 10 years and passed when she was 17 years old. I'm going to agree with pokidee with that lady not meaning her words in a malice way, and just wanted to warn you.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Us humans are really so dumb sometimes, ugh. She probably meant to be 'informative' somehow but really, no one wants to hear this stuff in an insensitive way. And besides, she's just plain wrong! My Wylie had Cushings since age 4.5yrs old, and lived to be 12 .

| I agree. Some people just talk before even thinking about what they are saying. Just go on loving and taking care of your baby. |

| Thoughtless idiots abound! In your case, you are so well-informed and your little ones are so well-cared-for, I guess no harm-no foul. But for someone less educated, less experienced...well, this woman's comments would be devastating. |

| I don’t think it was Ill intended but it lacked sensitivity.

| Oh, no, bless her little heart. She's a soldier though, I know she's a toughie and been through a lot and is still here. She's got a great mom who vets her responsibly so I'm sure she's going to do better than the average dog would. Long live little Callie!

Often people are nicer to their fur babies than to people. I would not say that to someone. Address issues, don't make it personal. Try not to. | |
