It is very insensitive to you. I would just take it as that person most likely didn't think or realized how insensitive were her words. She might not meant any malice in saying that, just ignorance and wanted to "warn" you in her own way. But in reality, she doesn't know your dogs' actual condition. Only the vet does. And if your dog seems to be behaving/functioning ok and is happy, that's all that matters. Cherish your dog and forget negative comments like that.
