| ![]() yayyy perfect picture, Otis is soooo cute. If Otis has had all his vaccines then it's ok to start training him to potty out doors. The best way is to have a schedule, dogs are creatures of habit, once you start something they expect it all the time, so a schedule is key to outdoor potty. Here how it works. Feed him the same time every day, if he eats 2 or 3 times a day it must always be the same time every day. 20 minutes after he has finished eating then take him out to potty, if you have to leash walk him walk him until he makes. Every dog is not the same as to when they have to make after they eat, some dogs it's 15 minutes some can be 30 to 45 minutes, this is your trial and error time. If he hasn't make after 30 minutes bring him home. If he made before the 20 minutes take him out anyway, this is building his schedule. If you see he makes in 30 minutes after he ate that will be his walk time. He must be walked the same time every day even if he already peed and pooped indoors you must take him out even if he does nothing, take him out, you are building a schedule that Otis will learn when he will be taken out and will learn to hold it until then. Now, this will not be an overnight thing, it can takes weeks, even up to 2 months until he learns what time he goes out. Schedule, consistency are the key factors in outdoor potty training. Always take treats with you for rewards when he pottys outdoors, give treat with happy excited praise when he makes, these lil pups love to please their humans and if Otis is food motivated a food reward will make him want to do what is expected of him to get that food reward. Cheerios is a great treat, most dogs love them. Where are you walking Otis that he doesn't like grass, your yard or the street. All dogs do not like grass, perhaps Otis just needs to get use to it. If you're walking him on the street then use that and not a grassy area.

| ![]() That is tough then, just do the best that you can, Otis will learn your schedule, it will just take a little longer to house break him.
