I buy Wellness Core Grain free reduced fat kibbles for my kid, I always buy four 4 Lb bags to get me through one month. I can buy at Pet Supplies Plus and PetSmart, each store has always had only 2 bags on their shelf. So I have to 2 bags at Pet Supplies they are the closest, then drive to PetSmart to buy the other 2 bags. Thursday I go to buy his food, bought my usual 2 bags at Pet Supplies then drove to PetSmart. Well I can't find the Wellness Core so I ask a worker where they have it now since they are always changing things around. Well, they are no longer selling Wellness Core Grain free reduced fat kibbles 4 pound bags, but I can get it in 20 Lb bag, WHAT!!!!! for one little dog 20 Lbs would get stale before I could finish it. I ask why, am told it is not a popular seller, but, I can buy it on Chewy. I am sure you all know by now PetSmart bought Chewy several months ago. She tells me they deliver in 2 days. Some time ago I looked on Chewy, all they sold was 20 Lbs bags, not in 4 Lb bag, reason I was buying at the store. So I come home and go on Chewy, I see they are now selling the 4 Lb bag, in order to get free shipping, order has to be $50. or over, so I have to buy 4 bags, now I will have 6 bags in house, I don't mind that as long as it doesn't get stale in the warm weather. I get an email Thursday it has bee shipped, they have a tracking #. Friday I check the tracking #, reads to be delivered on Aug. 4th (Saturday) ok, not bad. Well 8PM and still no delivery, so I check the tracking #, now it reads to be delivered Tuesday the 7th.

I am not a happy camper


So I come home and go on Chewy.

I go through exactly the same thing but with the Royal Canin low fat kibbles. End up with a bag do big I can’t carry it or a bunch of little bags

I hate that 'bait and switch' garbage..."FREE SHIPPING" if you order $___ or more (BaxterBoo does that, too). Plus why do these dang places keep switching things up? I am very loyal if treated well, meaning I'll go out of my way to do business at a place and possibly pay higher prices if item is always in stock and fresh and so forth. I don't do Chewy, too many mistakes in what I ordered, how much, etc. And for me, when my order arrives is paramount! I count on delivery to be at my home on the date given, period. I'd be stompin' and chompin' and carrying on for a little while--you know, just to get it out of my system!!! grrrrrrrr

It might not be chewy’s fault but maybe the shipping places fault. Chewy has amazing customer service so if your unhappy you could always send them an email. I order Callie’s liver supplement and probiotic from there once a month and never have any issues. I can’t find the treats I use to put Callie’s meds in anywhere anymore and that sucks so I understand not being able to find what you are looking for.

I started using Pet Supplies Plus when I rescued Cody 4 years ago, my other yorkies were petrified of these places so I never went to them. When I got this guy I took him to Pet Supplies as it is the closest to me to see if he was scared, thank you dear lord he was not. For a year he ate Natural Balance grain free, this they always had plenty on their shelves, then he refused to eat it so I started him on Wellness Core. Anytime I went all they had were 2 bags on the shelf, I would ask if they had any in the back, answer was no, ok, when do you get your next your next delivery, the last Thursday of the month. When I came home I googled PetSmart and PetCo, PetSmart was just a few miles past the Pet Supplies Plus so I started buying from them because they always had 8 to 10 bags on their shelves, plus I bought all his T-shirts, sweaters, coats. I never went back to Pet Supplies, then PetSmart started with only 2 bags on the shelf, then I had to go to Pet Supplies and PetSmart. I didn't mind, it gave Cody two places to cause a scene lol, but now PetSmart is no longer carrying it and Pet Supplies I can only get 2 bags a month, there in no PetCo near me, so I am forced to buy from Chewy. I have nothing against Chewy, in fact I'm glad I can order on line now. I'm just ticked that PetSmart will no longer carry it. PetSmart sent me a survey I gave them a O rating lol, in their comment box I wrote them the reason why lol. The store manager replied to it, apologized and that was it lol. I buy 4 bags at a time all the time so my purchase was well over the $50 for free delivery. The hold up is with FedX. The next time I order it will be on a Sunday or Monday, this should give them enough time to deliver when promised. It's a good thing I have more then enough food for my boy. Modern technology is fantastic but, too many businesses are going out of business because what ever you need can be purchased "on line" even new cars

I would rather buy most of my stuff online for two reasons I have bad anxiety that sometimes makes it hard to leave the house and people these days are rude and not very nice and that includes the people working at the stores. I also have limited income so I can price check and get the best deals.

I buy a 5 pound bag and that will last Emma almost 2.5-3 months.

I'm spoiled(?) and want the options of going to brick and mortar buildings and/or shopping on-line! Generally, both come through with good products, but sometimes....!!

I absolutely agree online buying for some ppl is excellent, ppl that are disabled and cannot drive, ppl that live in remote areas, etc. on line buying is ideal for them, same as in your situation. Rude ppl lol, well, we won't get into that lol. Spring, summer and fall is not a problem for me, it's the winter months that I stock up on everything. Call me ole fashion lol, but I line to walk into stores, buy what I need and then browse. There are many things one can no longer buy in the stores of their choice so online is necessary.

Actually 4 bags last about 5 / 5 1/2 weeks, Cody weighs 12 pounds. My concern is mainly the winter months, snow, ice, and I can't get off this mountain I live on, reason why I started buying so much, also all major stores are a 40 minute drive one way for me. I love to drive, Spring, summer and fall I have no problem and Cody gets to check out all the toys and selects what he wants to kill and cause a scene in the pet stores lol, but these two pet stores only having 2 bags on their shelves was getting ridiculous, then having to call them the day after they got their delivery to make sure my brand came in, a pain in the butt. I wish one 4 pound lasted me 2.5 months I would be saving a lot of money lol.

I get your frustration!!!! I would be too.
In all fairness I have to say the delivery companies are having problems with the weather in many areas. Horrible flooding etc. I think ordering on Sunday or Monday is a superb idea.

This is honestly why I use Chewy because stores half the time don't have what I need. I can easily rack up $49 for all the things I need between food and treats and their shipping is insanely fast. I buy 90% of my stuff online because I just find it easier personally.

In the future, would you be opposed to just buying all 4 bags at once online?

I have no choice now that PetSmart no longer sells Wellness Core Grain Free Reduced fat in 4 pound bags. I always bought 4 bags in the store so buying 4 on line is not a problem. I ordered on a Thursday, Chewy's conformation was delivery for Saturday, Friday I tracked the #, delivery was for Saturday. Saturday night I didn't get the delivery so I track the #. It states delivery set for Tuesday, I did receive it on Tuesday at 9:20PM. In the future I will order on a Sunday or Monday to ensure I get delivery the same week. It's a good thing I was able to buy 2 bags at Pet Supplies plus, I was kinda shocked when I was told PetSmart no longer carried the 4 pound bags.
