| AKC Registration Seeing a thread here made me think of, as Matese calls her, wee Freya. She was registered. Wait, how does it go? Lol. Now that I have her don't I have to register her? It's like 40 or 50 bucks? Is it too late? I haven't had the money. I'm not "showing" her, but I still kinda want to have the paperwork, just to say I have it, show pics, whatever. |

| Did you get the Akc paper work when you got her? I register mine and have it as like a birth certificate.

You aren't out of time, but AKC registration isn't something you should put off. What do you mean when you write, "She was registered?" A breeder will often register the litter. When the litter is registered, the breeder becomes the pup's owner of record. As a second step, then, the buyer becomes registered as the owner of record. (There may be more technical terms.) In my case, the breeder had registered the litter. She provided us all the litter registration information so that we could complete our registration of the pup online. Dutch's breeder provided a form that quite a few details including the litter registration number and a "pin." The form to which I am referring will indicate whether the pup registration is to be "Limited." The online registration process is pretty straight forward, but we did have some questions and exchanged texts with the breeder while we were filling out the form. See also, AKC, Online Dog Registration (New Puppy Owner). Hope this helps. Last edited by KatysMom; 08-06-2018 at 07:01 AM.

Yes, that's what I meant. I didn't know how to phrase it. Yes, I have the paperwork, had to check, was given to me. All I have to do is fill it out and pay the fee.

| You just fill out the paperwork and officially "name" them and then you can pick a package of your choice if you want an officially printed and stamped pedigree for how ever many generations are offered. But I believe there is a window of time to register your pup and then the price jumps up! $35 penalty fee if registered after 12 months and $65 after 24 months! |
