| Has anyone else experienced this My yorkie Louis passed away Wednesday and that night I had brought him in his little cage into my Mom's room for her to watch him while I did some stuff around the house. Louis and me were practically inseparable, he had separation anxiety and hated to be away from me. He followed me around everywhere his last days on earth he did not do it as much. I had went in my mom's room a few times between 11- and midnight and when I went in there he would bark, I am guessing he was barking to get out the cage. I had went upstairs to type some emails and I heard him bark and then I heard my mom yell my name. Louis had passed away. I have been reading online that he was barking because he wanted to see me again before he passed. I am just wondering if any of you have experienced this and if you have any idea as to why they bark before they die? I am really struggling with his passing and what happens to dog's spirits when they leave this earth. I guess I am looking for comfort in knowing that he is Okay and is happy wherever he is. I am curious as to what you guys believe happens to their spirits once they leave this earth? |

In my experience, many dogs go away from their owners and want to die alone, in peace.

| I am so very sorry for your loss. My 2nd girl at age 13 was acting very strange one night, going into rooms she usually didn't go into. This went on for about 30 minutes, then I realized I hadn't seen her and went looking for her. I found her in the den, she had passed. I wrapped her up hoping I was wrong and rushed her to the ER but she was gone. I realized all her pacing, going into rooms she usually didn't go in she was looking for a place to lie down and pass. I had also read when a dog knows they are dying they will look for a place away from ppl to pass quietly.
