| ![]() My sweet Dallas crossed over the rainbow bridge in January. I miss him so much every day. He was my baby. His buddy Beau has been a comfort, but it's not the same. When I'm ready for a new Yorkie, I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a Texas breeder. The few recommended TX breeders seem to have closed up, and everything else I'm finding are brokers and tiny teacup pocket pet greeders. Ideally, I would want a sweet, feisty, silver-blue and gold boy in the 7 to 10 LB range. Looking for some time in the future. Thanks |

| ![]() So very sorry for your loss of Dallas. ![]() I would start with the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America. Here are some breeders listed for the state of Texas: Dog Breeders Map List- The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America If you're not in a rush, I'd contact some of them and ask when they are next attending a local dog show. Then meet them in person. Then ask if they have puppies available or other retired show dogs they'd consider selling. Oftentimes, in a litter, there will be some that are larger (i.e. over 5 lbs) that show breeders will not show and will want to sell. When you know that the show breeder cares about the health of the breed, and find out that they've been showing for years, it's as close you can get to a guarantee of the health of their puppies. Nothing is ever 'for sure', but reputable show breeders should want healthy pups for showing. You'll notice a distinct difference from meeting Greeders. They are very heavy in 'selling' to you their puppies. They will make you feel pressured to put a deposit down. It's an overall uneasy feeling. Most will also tell you all their puppies are loved and raised in their home too. But really, it's just a puppy breeding business. They care about the money. Best wishes to find your pawfect future puppy. ![]() Take your time and don't rush it!

| ![]() There was a breeder on here in Houston. You could ask Wylie's mom and she likely knows who it was.
