| Spinning Help! I need some advice. When I get ready to take Gidget out for a walk, etc. she goes into a spin. Now she wants to go out and loves to go with me when I leave but......When she is spinning, I can't get her to stop long enough to put the lease on her harness. Even when she lets me know that SHE wants to go outside, she does the same thing. How get I stop this. Any suggestions? |

| My now passed girl always did this when she got excited, I always said I should have named her Spinner lol. I dealt with it, as she got older maybe 8 / 9 yo she stopped.

| Forgot to mention, when it was walk time and she went into spin mode, I sat on the sofa with harness and leash and waited for the spinning to stop, she knew as long as she was spinning there was no walking, she would stop long enough to get lassoed up and the spinning would start again. Spinning on walks I just stopped and wouldn't move until the spinning stopped, again, she knew we were walking no further as long as she was spinning. How do they not get dizzy lol.

| Absolutely, it is frustrating when you're on a time limit to have to wait for these lil imps to simmer down. Whenever I sat to wait I did not have a happy face on and my girl knew "the look" lol. I miss her everyday.

| It doesn't take them long to know how much we love them. I, too, lost a male Yorkie in 2013. Still miss him and he has a permanent place in my heart. |

| Piper tended to get pretty bouncy when she saw harness, leash, etc. And though I told her to 'settle down,' of course she didn't. However, what did get her attention was me placing her stuff on table and then sitting. Whoa! What? Piper quickly put it together that if she didn't stop (being crazy excited), I would! Smart little suckers these loves of our lives!! |

| I'm glad to know Gidget isn't the only fur baby out there who does that! Now I just have to work on making her realize what she needs to do. Started yesterday when she wanted to do for a walk. Will do a few more today. Don't think it will take her long to catch on. She's a pretty smart little girl. |

| Emma gets very excited as well when it's time to go outside. However I just stand there until she calms down. She's gotten the point and will turn around and stick her harness out ready to go out when she notices I'm not going anywhere until she calms down. I don't pay her any attention when she's overly excited as she does "excita-pee" at times, so to save floors I don't acknowledge her until she's calm.

| Mario is a spinner too. He knows he has to sit and stay prior to be let outside (we have a 360 fence, so he can go straight out). If you can get her to sit and stay, you may be able to get her harness from there.
