| Yes- I have done it twice and I really enjoyed it. I had a good trainer. It also exposes your dog to other dogs and maybe a playmate. You need to try to get in a class with smaller dogs. I think you would enjoy it and learn a few training skills. Good Luck |

| Yes, I have done it with my Aussie. They didn't have the classes broke down into size of dogs though. We were in class with Chihuaha's and St. Bernard's. It really did allow us to get exposure time and great bonding time with me and my dog. We were even going to continue on further in classes but after our 2nd class is when I broke my wrist and had to have surgery. We haven't been back but I was thinking just the other day about taking my Yorkie.

| Do you wait until they have had all their shots before doing this? Just curious... |

| We liked our puppy class so much that we continued. Loki is 14 months and he still does obedience class. It just helps us communicate with him and he enjoys it a lot! (Because he gets treats, ha!)

| I did puppy kindergarten with Scout. I really enjoyed it and looked forward to it every week and so did he. Word of warning: do not expect your Yorkie to perform well in class. Scout did so good at home in his skills, but would not do ANYTHING at school because he was so distracted by the other dogs. All he wanted to do was sniff butts (doggie kind..hehe). Another Yorkie was the same way! Almost all the other dogs would do what they were supposed to (those darn golden retrievers-smarty pants'), but our little Yorkies were just too busy to care. It is a great experience and helps you bond.

Most trainers like to start the training and socialization with other dogs as young as possible and really the necessary training outweighs the concerns about contracting some disease as the odds are against it accoding to my vet. I say do the class as soon as you can and have fun! | |
