| Cleaning product advice So my Chibi has had diabetes for over a year now. Luckily he is well regulated and doing great but I have a floor cleaning question. We have all tile floor where he runs around and last year I bought the Hoover floor mate ( at the suggestion of YT ) which has worked wonders for cleaning his pee accidents but after so much use it’s gotten a bit irrreversably dirty and smelly and I was wondering if I should buy a new one or if there was something new out. I was also wondering about floor steamer/scrubbers and if that might be a good investment. Shark has a Blast & Scrub Steam Pocket Mop that is only $50 but I don’t know if it’s worth it. Any advice is appreciated. TIA!

| Bump. I’d be interested to know other suggestions . I have the floor mate as well (small issue) so I don’t really use it . I’ve gone back to the good old fashioned mop and bucket.

| What’s the cleaner you use? I don’t know if it’s because my pups pee has sugar in it but I’ve tried fabuloso and pine sol and it leaves a sticky film every time.

With the floor mate I used the floor mate solution . I have it on the donation to goodwill list when they come to our neighborhood again as I just wasn’t as pleased with it cleaning compared to me just doing it myself . I would like a steamer so I’m just browsing until one comes around I think would be best .

| I don’t like the smell vinegar leaves behind but yes that has worked for cleaning. I think I might invest in a steamer. The floor mate has been a life saver for me, if I had the money I’d get one of those mopping roombas and just have it follow Chibi around

| We use vinegar, water, and a hand mop for regular floor washing of our tile floors. We use a product especially for dog urine for accident mop-ups between the whole-floor cleanings. For carpets, we'd been using a second-hand Bissell Little Green Cleaning Machine steamer for spot cleanups. The room always smells great when I'm done. I'm seriously considering getting a black light to check the carpets because I know he pees in spots I can't always find. |

| Personally, I love steam cleaners. I have a Bissell Power Fresh. It has a detachable water reservoir that can be kept clean by rinsing. The removable cleaning pads are washable and hey have a nifty little pocket with a place to put little fragrance disks. Bissell also has a citrus scented additive that helps to keep the unit clean and smells nice, but not overpowering. I don't use the fragrance disks because I have an African Grey Parrot and they are very sensitive to fragrance. Our water source is high in minerals, so I use distilled water (recommended by Bissell) to help reduce yucky buildups. |

| I love my FloorMate...but, you really have to spend time cleaning it. I suggest you call Hoover and ask them what you can do. They may direct you to one of the places they contract with to do repairs....maybe there is something you can do to get it back to normal. I don't use mine all of the time. In between I use this amazing mop: https://www.target.com/p/o-cedar-eas...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

| I use this for my mop. You cannot use it with the Floor Mate. https://www.mrclean.com/en-us/shop-p...adows-and-rain

| That is what I use most of the time now. I posted above this awesome mop I found. The only drawback is I have to change the water frequently, but I love it because it is lightweight and the wringer is great!
