| Scared Good Morning, My little girls name is Lexi, she is 7 mos and weighs 1lb and 1 ounces. She of course is very spoiled rotten, but for some odd reason she has become very scared since about the 3rd or 4th visit to the vet. She turns in like a little toronado when we try to hold her best way that I can describe it. Also having a hard time house training. She's not my first yorkie or first doggie. I'. just really confused with this one. I can take her to Pet Smart shopping and hold her in little blanket and she did fine. I just don't understand why she has become so scared. TIA |

| For now you might want to talk to the vet about something for anxiety. Have you tried training? That can really build confidence. Sometimes potty training can take a long time just stay consistent and on top of it.

| My boy is 6 yo and weighs 12 pounds the friendliest lil bugger ever, but, when we're at the vet he's so scared he tries to climb up onto my shoulders like a parrot, once in the exam room he's even worse, and of course I sooth and try to calm him down, same with the groomer, but I just ignore him, when I come to pick him up they have him in a crate which he HATES. As soon as he hears my voice he starts whimpering and crying, he's a drama queen. You have a teeny tiny spoiled lil Diva, and she like my boy, knows, we protect them, let no harm come to them. A lot of dogs are scared when they go to the vet. My now 4 passed girls were the same when they went to the vet, only they weren't wild like my boy is. I personally would not worry if she's just scared when it's vet visit time. It is what it is. She shows no fear anywhere else so I don't see a prob. Vet visits we tend to pamper them, try to make them feel safe, not always a wise thing to do, but, we just want them to know every thing is ok. She may just want that lil extra attention. If my furbaby got that wild I know after that visit I would be hugging and soothing my baby in the car before heading back home. In the summer after a vet visit I take my kiddo to Dairy Queen, he gets a lil spoon of icecream and my hips and thighs get the rest, it's just a lil treat for after vet visit, something I started doing this summer to see if it helps. My kid has to go once a month for allergy shot, now that's it cold after the vet I will take him to the bank drivethru cos they give dogs a lil treat, or we'll go to home depot where ppl make a fuss over him. I'm trying to train him after bad vet, he goes somewhere fun, maybe this will lessen his fear of the vet.

| She does it still at home. Even if we just want to pet her, shes very very skittish now. I have got her where she is calm down when I give her a bath I put the little heater out and sit on the floor ans dry her off rel good and then get the blow dry out and then when she is dry we go to my bed and her heating pad is already on so her blanket is warm for her. I just don't understand why she acts like this now. I'm just so afraid i'm going to drop her when I take her out to potty or put her in her little cage when she goes to potty. |

| My little girl Freyja is 4 lbs and 1 1/2 years old...after her first vet visit she was shivering/shaking so much I was afraid it was some sort of reaction to her shots...we snuggled her and covered her up...really babied her. It wasn't a reaction but now anytime she wants snuggles or is scared she shakes....completely a learned behaviour. All my fault lol. |

| Sorry, my misunderstanding, I thought she only got scared at vet visits. I would try obedience training at a school or private sessions. Training with our pups helps in their bonding with their humans, and builds trust also. It can also be her size, she is a very, very tiny little baby. At 1.1 pound do you know what you look like to her when she looks up at you or anyone or when you reach out to pet or love her, you are a GIANT to her.

| Do you mean she doesn't want to be picked up or held at home? Does she do the squirmy thing whenever she's lifted and held? My groomer used to warn Piper, "Hey, Piper, you don't have wings!" because Piper is strong and 9lbs and she's been almost dropped by others a couple of times. But she doesn't do that with me ever--I refrained from picking her up when I brought her home because she didn't want to be...Then I'd pick her up when she asked (standing on my leg). Now it's just grab and go and she is never bothered by it. |
