| New to this Hello everyone. My little girl is almost 3 months, this is my first time owning a yorkie and of course so excited. We are trying to potty train her and let’s say the rumors are true about how Yorkies are hard to house break..lol. Is there ANY tips in general about owning a yorkie that l need to know? |

| How long have you had her? 3 months is not very old and about the age potty training starts so you haven’t really had her long enough to know if it’s going to be hard lol. It takes a lot of patience.

| CONSISTENCY is the biggest thing I've learned through the potty training process with Yorkies. Positive reinforcement is a big thing as well. Lots of different training methods from crate training, outdoor, litter and pad training are all options. These are things that you have to figure out what works best for you and your dog. I'm one who learned that crate training and taking her outside worked best for us. PATIENCE and UNDERSTANDING is also important so just know you will get frustrated, it may take a while but revert back to remembering the reasons your yorkie may not "get it" is your lack of consistency in whatever training method you decide to follow.

| Welcome to YT The tips for training are patience and consistency. Your baby is still too young to learn. You should be expecting good results not earlier than the 4-5 month. The first command she needs to learn is "No". Potty training takes a lot of time and consistency from your side. You need to observe her behavior and know when she is about to pee and poo. As soon as you see her preparing to take her to the special place. When she does the job, reward her with a treat and good, positive talks. Young Yorkies urinate about 10-12 times per day. You should always take her to the special place after she wakes up, after eating and after playing with her (her being excited). Good luck! |

| Thank you Hello!! Thank you all for the replies, she is doing better and me and my husband is doing the crate training and that is going good. I took her to the vet for her 2nd time “with me” and she gained another 1.5 pounds so now she is 4.5 pounds of pure cuteness 💕 |
