| New to forum: Debbie Thank you for adding me to Yorkietalk. I apologize in advance as my first post is a sad one. I joined the forum to try to find some help in dealing with my grief at the loss of my Jasmine on the 13 of October. She had been a part of our family since she was 12 weeks, and she would have been 15 years old on December 21. She was our "empty nest" dog, as my son had just recently joined the Marines, and my daughter was about to graduate high school when we got her. She was my/our first Yorkie. She quickly won our hearts, and we were rarely away from her. She would travel with us cross country in our RV to visit our "Cali girl". It is the first time in 25 years that we have not had a pet in the house, and with my husband not being sure he wants anymore, I am finding this loss of my velcro dog even more overwhelming. |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk. I am so sorry for your loss. I really haven't found anything that takes the pain away but a puppy could keep you so busy you don't have much time to think about it.

When Jasmine passed, I went back and looked up where we got her from so I could let him know she had passed and to thank him for the years of love she gave us and was horrified to find out that apparently he ran either a brokerage or puppy mill. I was very naive at the time and I guess he did a good job of fooling me with his pics of Yorkies riding with him on his golf cart and can now only assume the two email references he gave me that I contacted were probably him. I take a little solace in thinking that at least I got her out of what may have been a horrible living situation and she had a life of love (and a lot of spoiling). So, with that new knowledge added to my loss, I am scared and a little lost as to getting a new puppy without making the same mistake (if my husband gives the okay). | |

| Welcome to YT, so very sorry for the loss of your sweet lil Jasmine. If you feel a new baby is what you need maybe you can persuade your husband into opening his heart to another baby. In any case, YT is here for you if you just want to talk about your little girl (((hugs)))

| My sympathy to you for your heartbreaking loss. I do want to welcome you to YorkieTalk and also to remind you that you will never truly replace your little girl...it really is in addition to Jasmine and what better way to honor her memory than to do so with another Yorkie. You have room in your heart to love both but keep in mind they are individuals with their very own quirks. I understand not wanting to feel this pain again...but just think how happy you could make another. You obviously love her so much it hurts. Sending a hug and understanding!!

| Grateful for kind words I am sitting here at 2:30 am crying my eyes out, trying to cope. I hate going to bed, she is not there. She would always go to bed with me. So grateful for this site and peoples kind words. Just watched beautiful tribute to Ally by her Mom. It helps to know I am not alone at feeling this bad at the loss of a furry friend. |
