| Do you mean for the puppy to sleep on? I don't think that's a good idea. They will chew it and eat it. Also some inks are toxic to pets.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Just curious as to why you'd want to use paper bedding...? Especially when young puppies will likely eat/chew every/anything in sight - and likely ingest paper and ink as a result. I would not risk it.

| I also believe that ink is toxic to dogs. I use paper pads for my puppy to pee on, I wouldn't use it as a bed. That would just confuse the puppy. And they do eat/chew anything and everything because they are teething so... no, paper is not good to use for bedding. |

| How about recycling the paper? Does your area have a pickup for recycling?

| Any moisture in paper causes it to become soggy and pulpy. We used it for cat litter for a while. It retains all odors and moisture. It tracks all over the place when in contact with fur and paws. And, I agree with everyone else, the puppy will likely eat it. Our former dog, a mini dachshund, found it a great coating for Kitty Roca. Kinda turned it into Breaded Kitty Roll. If you are looking to save money, go to a Dollar Store and get a couple of their baby blankets. They wash and dry quickly and will allow you to have economical bedding that is fresh and safe for your puppy. If you're looking for a way to use old paper you could use it for paper training but the same odor and moisture problems will occur and the any ink will come off on the puppy's paws and onto floors and carpets. Pee pads cost a bit but will pay off in training and reduced damage to your home. |

| I personally wouldn't use "shredded" paper, this baby will have it all over the place and on its self, also the ink from the paper will get in the pups fur. Ink is toxic. I would recycle that paper opposed to using it for bedding or potty use.
