| Finding good Breeder Help! I am looking for a good breeder in North Carolina! I have contacted a few but no one has pups available. I also contacted a few that I felt very uncomfortable with because they couldn't tell me anything about the puppies themselves. I keep finding these breeders that have about 5 or more breeds and a couple litters in each breed, does this mean they are a puppymill? I just want to find a good reputable breeder but it is hard because I actually live in AZ, will just be visiting NC in a couple weeks and wanted to get a puppy while there because it is a little to pricy out here in AZ. I know I shouldn't be thinking too much about the cost of the dog if I want to find a good breeder, but I am also thinking of the cost after I get my baby. Does all this make sense? Thank you! |

| I'm in NC but I'm not sure of a good breeder.... Try posting in the breeder section or the puppies for sale/wanted. Also try putting NC in the subject... Crystal |

| Hi. You can pull up www.ytca.org and it will show breeders in the area you are looking for. Good luck.

| I don't live in NC, so I would not know. I found my breeder on Louisiana Classifieds. Because there has not been 1 yorkie listing in my local paper for at least 6 months and there still is not any. The breeder happened to live less than 10 minutes away from my house. I was checking Louisiana Classifieds online 3 times a day! That is how bad I wanted a yorkie puppy. I also placed my own ad, but most of the people that responded lived too far away. Before the puppies were born, I visited our breeder at her home. And met the yorkie mom. (Another lady owns the dad) But, she had pictures of him. She takes excellent care of her yorkie and I was very impressed. And yorkie mom was so sweet and beautiful. I fell in love. And I got to see my puppy when she was only 9 days old. Chloe is not old enough to go home yet, but can't wait until she does. Maybe place an ad online or check the local classifieds. Just be careful about online stuff though, because a lot of scammers out there. Try to visit the breeders home if you can. That way you can meet the parents and see how they keep their puppies. You will know in your heart if it is the right breeder or not.

| Thanks everyone for the advice, I should have put more info into my post. IT is possible I have done everything I can, I have contacted most of the people on the YTCA site, most of the people on breeders.net, am checking the local classifieds daily, etc. I feel iffy looking in the paper but it is a start. Thanks again, I think I will do a thread with NC in it, thanks for the advice. |
