| Health Insurance Does anyone have any health insurance for their baby? I am just thinking that since Rocky can't seem to stay out of trouble (VALIUM, for instance ) Maybe I should check into it! We have already spent tons of money at the vet for the pills and when he had parvo. It is definitely worth whatever it costs to keep him healthy, but if I could save a little, that would be fantastic! I am hoping that someone out there can give me a little more info on what it covers and if it is worth the cost. Thanks, in advance! |

| I have it on both my little ones I got it as soon as I got them. It won't cover any pre existing conditions that's why I got it on them asap before there were any.

| We're currently with Nationwide's Whole Pet With Wellness Plan. Insurance cost us $66.01 a month with a $250 deductible and 90% reimbursement. It basically covers everything from head to toe. Here's a list of things I've submitted claims for... Office visit DA2PP/Bordetella/Rabies vaccinations Blood work E Ova & Parasites w/Giardia (ELISA) test Flea/Heart worm preventatives Dental (Expensive!) Anesthesia Bundle IV Catheterization Buprenex Inj Small Animal 1.00mL(s) Propofol/Valium Injection 1.00mL(s) Inhalant - Isoflurane 60 Minutes Canine Dental Bundle 1.00 Anti-inflammatory Inj 1.00ml Cefazolin Injection 1.00ml Dental Scaling/Polish Canine Grade 1 Extraction(s) - Deciduous x4 Dental Xrays Metacam Oral 15ml Total billable amount since 11/2/2016 - $1161.59 Total out of pocket for me - $341.15 I live in NYC and Vet prices are likely higher compared to the rest of the country. The only thing that was not covered was Cosequin supplements. All in all, I'm satisfied with Nationwide. |

| I have an accident/injury only policy for Mario through Pets Best. He is a service dog, so he travels and is around people, pets, grocery carts, parking lots, etc.... probably more than most dogs. His policy does not cover well care or illness. $86 ish a year and he is three now. $500 deductible and pays 80% after that. I decided upon getting Mario to self insure. I set 20.00 a month back just for medical care for him should he need it.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Health ins is a GREAT idea if you wouldn't be able to handle a major health issue...which, trust me, it *will* happen! And they literally can cost a small fortune...many times over! I had both Pet Plan and Healthy Paws.

| We have Nationwide whole pet for our boys, $74/month each with $100 deductable. They have reimbursed me for 90% of everything including heartworm, soresto collars, neutering, shots, all office visits, all testing, x-rays. I can not say enough good things about this company. I absolutely love it and it gives me piece of mind knowing I have it incase I really need it. |

| I have PetPlan Insurance and have had to use it through the years. I have a 100.00 deductible and pretty much happy with it. They send you a check right away and everyone at PetPlan are very nice and helpful. Susan |

| Sorry for the renewing an old thread but I`d like to get advice from experienced Yorkie owners. I cannot choose the pet insurance for my puppy, I`ve already read all the info on such websites like petinsurancefinder.com but I still don`t know what to do. Tell me please which pet insurance do you have and why? Thanks in advance. |

| I have Pets Best. I do like them but as of lately they have had a major back log which has lengthened processing claims time longer. I think it had something to do with employee shortages. So yes that has had me concerned but overall have been happy with the service and I do think it's necessary to have pet insurance if you can float it in your monthly budget.. I've had them since Emma was brought home
