| Lost Yorkie found in Mesa, AZ My daughter's friend found a pure bred yorkie- a little girl- about 3 weeks ago. She was in terrible shape. Long hair, matted, with burs and her poop stuck to her. She was very, very, skinny. She had no collar, no microchip, and no identification. I know this is a very, very, long shot. I cannot find a matching case on the boards from FB and will be checking craigslist as a last ditch effort. My daughter's friend is taking very good care of her, she's been groomed, has gained weight back, and she has named her Lily. The vet determines her to be pure bred, she's around 7-9 pounds, maybe less, maybe a bit more- I haven't seen her in person. Will ask my daughter. She appears to look like a woman's yorkie named Meka who has been missing since February 2017, but the absence of the microchip has made that an impossibility. I know if it's been a long time a collar would likely have fallen off. Vet has checked each time she's been seen. I hope someone, somewhere, knows something. Otherwise, this baby is in great hands. |

| Did the vet say if she appeared to be fixed or not? That could also help find the owner maybe. It only takes a few hours in the wild for a yorkie to start looking unkept. Have the local shelters and humane society's been called? Even vets?

| The Mother and daughter posted an ad for a week from what I understand, the vet held the dog for a few days, checked her over, and I believe looked for information. I didn't ask my daughter if she was fixed, but I will. |

| I would definitely have them check with the local shelters and humane society sometimes people call them when they loose a dog and they either remember or took down notes.

| Sometimes I think people pick up a dog that looks uncared for for a long time and think it was unwanted or uncared for when sometimes it's not what it seems. It takes very little time for a yorkie to get messy in the wild and skinny. If I found a dog I would be doing everything possible to find the owners like I would expect someone to do if they found one of my babies. Sometimes crazy things happen and a dog gets lost. Asking local vets and rescues and shelters are really important. Sometimes dogs can travel a good distance.

Totally true, Taylor! A longer haired dog can become an utter mess in a very short amount of time. I'm just glad this little kiddo is in safe hands - thanks to those caring for it!
