| RE-potty training How can I "retrain" my dog to go outside...I actually pee pad trained him because I live in an apartment. He is very good about going "on" his pad...the problem ia sometimes hes so close to the edge and he misses....or if I am cleaning the pad and he has to go...he will go on the floor where the lad usually is. I shampoo my carpet every 4 to 6 months but I can still smell urine. I wish I would have trained him to go outside ...is it too late now?? |

| I moved my daughters rehomed yorkies pad onto a tray. She took to it pretty quickly and there was no more mess.I used a upside down rubbermaid tote cover at first, then moved to a deeper tray that I found at a yardsale. I later bought one of those plastic pad holders for when she stayed with me- it worked ok, better than on the floor. |

| You can train him to go outside but crate training will help you but your dog will always be conditioned to think its okay to go inside. you need to be very consistent with it. I did this with my male yorkie some years ago but I always had to watch him.
