| Yorkie? I was given a puppy when she was three weeks old. She is now eight weeks old. The reason I received her so young, it's because her mother was having complications with nursing. I took her to the veterinarian last weekend to get a physical and her shots. The vet said she was in very good health, but he did not believe she was a full Yorkie breed. He said he thought she had something else mixed in with her. I was told her mother was a silky and her father was a Yorkie. I have noticed in the past couple of weeks, that her hair is getting longer on her stomach, ears, chest, elbows, and her knees. However, her face is staying slick haired. Can I expect her face to get fluffier as she gets older? What do you guys think? Does she have something else mixed in? By the way her name is Lucy and we are totally in love with her. Her pic is in my profile picture. |

| Welcome to YT, the one pic you have I am sorry to say, Lucy does not look like a yorkie to me. Perhaps a photo with her standing would give a better view of her body, but looking at her face I see no yorkie. What matters is that you LOVE this little girl and you will give her an awesome life.

| I agree that Lucy doesn't look like a purebred Yorkie. Also, with hair that short at 8 weeks, I would expect it to remain short. At any rate, Lucy is a real cutie, and you are more than welcome to stick around Yorkietalk! |

| You do know a Dorkie is NOT a breed, it's a Dachshund / yorkie mix. I saw the one of Lucy standing she does not look like a yorkie.

| I know it's weird because I saw her mom and dad. Her mom is a beautiful silver Silky and her dad is a gold/silver Yorkie. I'm thinking maybe her parents are not full blooded. No matter, she is my baby and I love her. Thanks everyone for your advice. |
