| Is my yorkie pregnant? My year old yorkie has hard swollen areas around her nipples. I just noticed this when I was rubbing her belly. She is really skinny and I don't think she tied with my male. Has anyone else ever seen this in their dog? I've seen swollen mammaries before, but these are hard lumps. They're not real big, but definitely noticeable, and just around the nipples. I'd appreciate any help you can give. Should I take her to the vet? They don't seem to be sore or tender. |

| Take her to the vet and get an emergency spay asap. I would also plan to get your male neutered.

| My Rylee was about 13 months when she was spayed. About a week after the spay she had, what I felt was a large, hard mass type thing on her chest, near a nipple. We went to the vet and the vet said it was just a mammary glad that would go down as her hormones changed. It went down within a 2 weeks, as the vet expected. I agree with those above. Get her in to be spayed immediately and get the male neutered next. Then, you won’t have to worry about this type of thing in the future! |
