Max fell down the stairs! Max fell down the stairs 2 weeks ago.. today he starts limping on the same leg he hurt in the fall. The ER dr said it's a sprain (pulled muscle) and gave him 2 pain killers. He's been whimpering and shaking so the pain must be bad. He was fine when we got up so must have pulled it playing? Question is the dr said 2 weeks strict bedrest?? If he can't be kenneled for 2 weeks to block him in a small area would be ok as long as I restrict his movements. Anyone else have this strict dr orders for a pulled muscle? I'm sure while he is in pain he will lay around (snuggled up in his minky blanket) but how do you keep them down for 2 weeks? Then a few days after that we leave for Hawaii for 2 weeks. Now not sure what to do with him for those 2 weeks. Doggy daycare will be a lot of running around for 2 weeks.

I would say that daycare is out, does your vet board ? Also you can soak that leg in epsom salts.

I'm home sick and Max went to play with her dog since moms pek was put down last week. Be kind has been mopey and Max loves it at Nanas house. I forgot to tell her no fetch (I'm really sick and mind is foggy) poor baby came home shaking in pain again! Vet said it's a sprain but might have to dig out those awful painkillers that drug him up. Leave in 2 weeks and still no sitter for him. If I could sneak him to Hawaii I would!
