| Need your help and Suggestions Again Mr. Pooch, Is doing fine and adjusting to his new home. As I have, all my neighbors have fallen in love with him. Two of them called today to offer Mister Pooch sitting if I have to go shopping or run any errands (but I plan to take him with me-in fact I ordered a dog seat today from Amazon). I do have a concern, it seems the young lady who previously had Mr. Pooch, got up at 4:00am, because like a alarm clock at 4am he's at my bed shaking and stretching and wants me to get up. How would I train him to wait two more hours and get me up at 6:00am instead of 4:00am. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks all, Mr. Ed & Mr. Pooch. ps. I can't out figure out how to get a picture from my cellphone to YorkieTalk.com. |

| Try retraining him in half hour increments. The first week get up at 4:30, then 2nd week 5:00 and so on. If that doesn't work do 15 minute increments, or time it more specifically for when he needs to potty.

| I take Cody out for his last piddle just before I am going to bed. I have to assume you do the same. Cody is good from 10 / 11 PM until 6AM. Depending on his weight at 2 1/2 years old he should be able to hold his business, when dogs are sleeping their bladder and bowels are usually sleeping also lol. If he is 7 pounds or under they have smaller bladders and can't hold it as long as a bigger yorkie can, Cody weighs 12 pounds. kjc has a good suggestion, retrain in half hour increments. Booster seat was a fantastic investment. I needed one because Cody gets car sick, the booster seat has eliminated that and he LOVES his car rides, now he can see out of the windows. Happy to hear Mr.Pooch is adjusting to his new home wonderful news. Sorry I can't help on uploading pics from your phone.

| Email the pics to yourself, when it asks what size, choose the smallest. Open your email, save that pic. It will now be the right size to post.

| where does he sleep at night, sounds like he might have the run of the house or at least part of your house. I once had an earlier riser pup and having him sleep in a crate nipped that in the bud, because I got him up instead of him getting me up.

I might add that you set your alarm for those times too, so that it's the alarm that is triggering him to wake up instead of his internal clock. It helps for days you may want to sleep in. And also, it's a good question: what time do you last take him potty? Mine are the same as Matese - they have a last potty before going to bed around 10/11pm and we get up at 6am for morning potty.
