It must have been tough for you. I'm sorry you're in that position. It's heartbreaking when you know neither you or your little girl's happy. You just want the best for her.

Please make sure when you rehome her that the people understand why you have to give her up and that they have the time and patience to keep her in a forever home! Your thought of an older couple with no other dogs sounds like a good idea. Good luck!

It is a hard thing to do bringing an adult dog into your home. TRUST ME!

When I got Daisy 2 months ago, she was a kennel dog, 6 years old, was not socialized, didn't know how to play...I had days hwere I was frustrated also. She was confused and scared, as is Silk.

I just gave her tons of love, her own space, and lots of patience.

She is now doing wonderful, becoming more social each day and loving us more and more!

I hope you decide to love her and keep her more!

I'm sorry Sugarsmom. I didn't intend to be mean to you at all, honestly, I didn't. I just hate to think of you being so upset and crying for days over something that will probably be okay in the end.

And I don't think its you that is making Silk so unhappy. She's just frightened and missing her old family. If she was playful there, she'll be playful at your home too. Especially when she realizes how much you will love and care for her.

As far as breeding goes, I just hoped that you weren't going into it blind and understood the heartache the breeders go through. It takes a special kind of person to do what they do. I know I would never have the strength of heart to do it. And again, I hate to think of you upset and in tears for days at a time.

Only you know what you need to do. I assure you whatever you decide will be the right thing for you and your family. Good luck!

I have been very open about my desire to find an adult female to breed. I also have been very open about why I want to sell her. Her age and me finding out that she is a year older has nothing to do with it. I know you can breed dogs and register them at a few years older. So, what is your point? All thru this thread, I have talked about why i bought her. It was to be first and foremost a playmate for Ceeby. AND to breed when he is older. I am keeping no secrets here and I am surprised at you. Everyone that has read this thread knows I have been very open. Right now even, this little gal is lying on the back of my couch just staring out the window and Ceeby is lying right under her. She does not like him. Since my husband is a breeder and has been for over thirty years, I know that her age is fine to breed. Again what is your point? Do you think you are letting people in on a BIG SECRET or something/ ? You are not telling these people anything I haven't already told them. She is a beautiful little dog and has a few more years breeding left in her. She has champion bloodlines so wouldn't I be the fool to let her go? She is extremely unhappy here and I am unhappy for her. It is better for me to let her go now before I become really attached to her. i still have a female puppy contracted and I am still getting her in Feb. In fact, I am getting two sisters. I was thinking of your situation, when I read this thread and hoped you would see it and give her some advise.

When I first got Cowboy, Tiah would rather break her neck than look at him. Then she would rather sit on him (while on my lap)...her theory seemed to be that if she couldn't see him then he wasn't there. It is just jealousy. Trust me, it goes away. I'm sure just about everyone on YT had similar experiences when they got an additional Yorkie. You said your "number one reason". There must be more to it that might make others understand. However, it is your decision. If it is only for the first reason, you are probably having Ceeby's potential future best friend be rehomed. Let us know your final decision. I will not judge you either way.

Sugar's Mom, I think chachi was more defending you than trying to be condecending. I would hope nobody on here would try to be that way on purpose. If anything, it seemed to me, anyways, when I read it, that chachi was correcting the people who were accusing you of doing the wrong thing...in order to set them straight and not inform, but remind, them that you want to breed. As a breeder you have more to take into consideration when you adopt a dog, and I totally respect your right to make those decisions.

I have been thinking of you and daisy all along. You just made it seem so easy. daisy took right to you and it didn't take long at all. But if she is not going to play with Ceeby or anything,he is no better off. If I had no other dogs, I probably could do it. I like lap dogs. You have done a wonderful job with daisy

I did not take it the way you did, I took it as,, If she is so distant and older than you thought, and DOESN'T get along with the male, I took it as, IF you waited her out,, and she came around to you.. She may always be shy and stand off'ish,,and I would think breeding would be the last thing she would be ready for... IF she ever even gets to that point.. And if ya want a female to breed, she might not be the one you want.. I think that was all she was saying. Nothing negative.
