| OMG Cody ate a LOT of candy My fault, I left 1/4 or less bag of Brach's Candy Corn on the side table and left the room. When I came back Cody was scoffing up the last kernel of candy. Besides diarrhea should I be concerned about anything else. This is the first time a dog of mine ever ate candy let alone a LOT of candy. I say a LOT considering his size of 12 lbs. There was maybe 50 pieces or less of candy corn, really not sure how much was in the bag.

| Arrgghh...candy cone is soooo sweet, too. Bet he'll have a little bellyache, poor baby. I think calling your vet is a great idea. And it's not your fault! I mean as much as we try to cover all the bases all of the time, we're human and therefore, fallible. And lord knows, these little babes are quick opportunists! Please be as kind to yourself as you'd be toward one of us, 'kay?! Let us know how he's doing later on... |

| The first thing I did was call my vet, they said keep an eye on him, then I posted here hoping someone went through this and could give me a heads up what to look for. Cody and I were out ALL day, he didn't take his 42 naps so he will sleep, which is what he was doing when I left the room forgetting I placed the bag of candy on the table, and I HARDLY ever eat candy. So if him being lethargic was a sign I wouldn't be aware, cos we were out all day and he is POOPED. And at 8PM he was looking for his treats. Every night at 8PM he gets his treat after he goes through all his commands and tricks, he's got some nerve after eating all that candy, no commands = no treats, and we had a big argument over NOOOOO. He seems ok, but, he's been sleeping.

| I felt exactly the same when my Sadie ate a rock. I had her xrayed and smashed poop for two weeks. It takes YEARS off your life. Sending positive thoughts. |

| How is the "candy monster" doing tonight???? We've had our share of eating or trying to eat forbidden things. One episode cost $500.00 at the ER vet and several days of sick puppy. I'm thrilled it wasn't chocolate he would have way sicker than with just the candy corn. Obtw, if you eat peanuts with candy corn it tastes like a payday bar plus not as much guilt since peanuts are protein. Lol

| Well he slept all night, we woke up at 5:05AM he went out to pee-pee, no poop yet, he went back to bed which is normal for him. He eats around 6:30, usually poops right after eating, I'll see how that looks.

| Ok so he made a liar outta me, he pooped at 6:15, it was softer then his usual poop, a BLING poop, all sparkly guess it was ALL that SUGAR from the candy corn. Ate at 6:30 so I'll see what that looks like, guess today will be poop inspection day . He seems his normal argumentative self tho.

| Happy to hear Cody is doing well after scaring you. Hoping for normal poop reports for the rest of the day. I wish all dogs could be like the Airedale we had when it comes to food. We could step away from pizza or whatever on the coffee table in front of the TV and she wouldn't bother it. Max and Teddy would never have such restraint.

| I had a funny one today. My naughty little "eat everything" is always waiting for me to leave my laptop desk so she can steal anything near it to eat (pens, glasses, tissues, etc). This time I watched around the corner, then walked in so I could catch her red pawed. She saw me and immediately pretended to be asleep. Little brat. |
