My Bentley is all the way around different than the standard yorkie. He has floppy ears and weighs 12bs at 6 months. I wouldn't have it any other way! |
3 Attachment(s) My Minnie Bear had floppy ears. Here are a few pics of my teapot angel: |
1 Attachment(s) Here's a picture of my floppy eared big boy! |
I love floppy-down ears! When I looked for my last yorkie puppy, this was my only request. He was adorable. I wish I could figure out how to post his picture. |
I don't know now All the pictures of your floppy ear bigger yorkies are so adorable but I also love the look of the v shaped ears as well. I never knew there were so many who looked that way. Just so doggone cute!!! I have a tiny yorkie and I like the look of all your larger babies. There is some substance to them. I would rather have a larger dog but I did not know he would be so tiny. But he is a cutie I must say. |
1 Attachment(s) I agree that when 'looking' for a specific breed, the breed Standard 'should' probably be what we 'should' look for when choosing a puppy. However, I would not 'try' to 'restrain' prick ears from achieving their correct upright position, even if I 'preferred' the 'down ear' look. 'Genetics' will make the final decision. I don't think there is anything more beautiful than a Yorkie that meets the Standard, but I also don't think there is anything more beautiful than a Yorkie that doesn't meet the Standard. :D My Yorkie 'kids' had loving homes before coming to live with me as adults, and they are all different, but I am thrilled with how each of my little loves looks, and here's why...left to right, my 'prissy baby boy'...full tail, down ears, long coat; my 'Miss Hyperactive'...down ears, all golden, long coat; and my 'Dora the Explorer'...up ears, long coat. Your baby will be gorgeous...like all Yorkies! :D |
Three babies three Navillusc, The pictures of your three yorkies are wonderful and they are all gorgeous. I think though that I like best the one with the upright ears. Looks like a Yorkie to me with the ears that way. |
1 Attachment(s) My Cricket has floppy ears. She is 3 years old and about 8 lbs. I'll admit, In the beginning I was bummed her ears didn't stand up. Sorry the picture is SO small! Attachment 410487 |

Everyone's babies are sooooo cute! I couldn't stand it anymore so off to the groomer to shave the tips of his ears. Sure enough up they both went. It would have drove me crazy with one up and one down... I kept raising the lazy one and it went up and stayed. I was worried his ears were too big for his face but with them shaved they are tiny little ears! |
Looking for info- I have a 2 yo Yorkie and all of a sudden his right ear went floppy? I have since trimmed it back, went to the vet just to rule out infection. My vet says it just might be weak cartilage? That it happens- I love him and doesn't care but want to make sure I take care of him anyone else have this happen it's been floppy about 3 mos now? Thanks |
Our little Lilly's ears were upright from four weeks and when we eventually fetch echoed her from the airport a few weeks later those pointers were the first thing out the crate. We love the pointy ears from an infection point of view as well as it suits her personality. A friend of ours has has a twelve year old little male with floppy ears whose very chilled and it suits his personality perfectly. |
1 Attachment(s) My Pepper's ears stand up but they are not real pointed. And my groomer trims his ears to look even more rounded. It makes him look like he has bat ears! It's so cute when he rotates them. |
