| ![]() I don't suppose there's any talking this novice out of this particular dog, right? It just seems like a lot of dog--especially for someone with two young girls and no experience. You are one of the most generous and kind people everrrr! |

She brought him out to me on a harness which apparently she uses in the car to attach to a restraint. I just wish my trainer was here, she is in Latvia as her dad is ill, and I don't want to bother her. I also struggle with my biases, good god breeding to a wolf? She does have a proper collar for the breed. I gave her a lesson on how to use correctly. Also one on just how strong a big dog can be. Magic knows the pull command as he has been trained in draft work, I had her hold his lead and she was to stop him pulling forward when I issued the pull command. She ended up on her butt being towed across the grass. She had no hope in hell of stopping him. Unless she knew the commands. Her eyes opened wide. Surprised. She was holding the lead incorrectly so I showed her the doubled handle hold, which still lets the lead be loose. Common error with newbies to hold too tightly. I have a trick for the come command. Spinning off the precept don't call come unless you are willing to correct for disobedience.... Instead with joy in your voice and open arms and treats ready. Call his name, when he runs towards you say happily oh good good come. Treat generously. He responded well. This is step one. Heel was being used incorrectly so I advised. Her to use the. Term walk easy and or by me. Magic and I gave a demo on utility dog level obedience. Signals only and all work off lead. She said oh my how long to train? At least three years and always tune ups.. Today is a tuneup.
