| laying flat on ground. I have to ask while this is fresh in my mind. Something that I've never asked about because I've tried everything including stairs, landing pads, etc. is her ALWAYS jumping OFF of the DAMN couches and beds. Which she jumps up on all by herself. She's too fast 98% of the time. I'll ask Myra about this it's on the top of the list, but I"m not so certain I can stop her until her training gets to a point where she listens all the time. Because she's doing this, that super man pose she does concerns me. When chewie is in bliss, he has two positions: on back and hugging my hand while rubbing her belly, and that super man pose, stomach flat, front legs out in front, and back legs flat down and straight back. I'm not sure how she can do that. Is this normal? double jointed? This might be a stupid question but I AM concerned. I'm half way scared that she's injured her ligaments. Vet checked her, said something about her knees being "Loose" but that's "normal" She's had x-rays and they check her at my request each visit. I have two tunnels for her, because she's just so damn acrobatic. Sorry for my potty mouth, it's just she's scaring the ever loving BLEEP out of me. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Lol...these little ones cause us so much worry and wondering, don't they...??!! It's endless. Just shows how much we love them though, and want the best for them. Our Pfeiffer does the Superman aka "army crawl" pose too - front legs out, flat on tummy, back legs frog-legged out behind her - we *love* this pose for some reason - it's just so dang cute. But no worries about joint issues bc of this pose - it's all good .

| I agree with Ann. No need to worry. Teddy often sleeps in the superman pose on top his blanket. Max will sometimes do the frog back legs on the carpet when he has a toy. No leg or knee problems with either of them, not yet. They are 7 years old.

| Piper often sleeps in the most uncomfortable-looking positions...she's all turned and twisted and bent, like a dang pretzel! I used to try to gently re-position her into more 'normal' posture. She'd open one eye, let me finish maneuvering her to what I thought looked comfortable--then immediately twist, turn and voila, pretzel-city again. Now I just leave her be...! |

I have seen many dogs lie down like that on their stomach with the front legs straight out and back legs straight out too.

| When sleeping under the covers, Piper often lies on her back with her back legs stretched out and her front legs straight up--not over her head, but up in the air, making a tent out of the sheet...Even zonked-out these guys are goofballs! |

| Zeus likes to turn into a circle/ball when he sleeps. Perseus sleeps every which sort of way. You never know what he'll do. He does do the superman move as you call it. Being from the south, we say he's pancaking! He'll pancake on the kitchen tile and hardwood floors. If he hadn't been neutered, we would think he's trying to cool his area. So we say he pancakes to cool the wingding! |

The super man pose is my absolute favorite pose next to the laying on back. It's not that I don't love it- I do. My daughter and i both adore it. We say "crouching wolf hidden fur rug!" She'll drop a ball, go into the play bow- her third favorite sign she's super happy, wag her tail helicopter style. Grab her ball, the one bigger than her little head, pick it up proudly and then drop it, crouching and doing this cute little growl at the ball. Then immediately crouching wolf, hidden fur rug. It's all the stuff she's doing. She's going to break her leg, mark my words, and I'm helpless as to what to do. bean bags, stairs, landing pads.. we are training her, but it isn't working fast enough. I've even upped her calcium, and I make sure to make her take yogurt/cottage cheese every single day, food or on her spoon. Half a teaspsoon twice a day. I'm talking to vet the day of her spay- in three days- about adding a calcium supplement and the coconut oil and a fw other things. That missing link powder is amazing, and It makes me feel loads better. Doesn't stop her from doing what can happen quite easily with these little guys, supplements or not. Any way, enough about my rant, this has been on my mind for months. She's just acrobatic. It's how she is, and I can't stop her from doing it. I can only train her to stop jumping off objects. | JennaPenny -- No videos, but I think you should make one of your bounding, boing-y little baby going hither and yon and up and down and every which way!! And I gotta say that I laughed out loud at your descriptions of her "crouching wolf..." and the ball that's bigger than her little head. I'm still smiling, just too, too cute!!! lovelovelove!!! |

| My two sleep in the superman position too. I think it's apparently common in puppies and younger dogs from what I've heard. My first Yorkie used to sleep on his back with all four of his legs straight up in the air. Not bent at all or anything! No idea how that was comfortable! Lol |
