| Mama wants to get out and back in Hello, My Olivia had 4 beautiful puppies on Saturday. Her first and biggest puppy was breech but I happened to be on the phone with my breeder friend when she started coming out, and she told me how to help her deliver the puppy's head. After that the next 3 came out head first and were all great. She is a very attentive mother. I am finding that, now and then, she wants to get out of the play pen but then wants back in and then out and then in etc. etc. Sometimes she will relieve herself when she is out but usually she just runs around looking for something. It is like she thinks she is missing a puppy. I finally get her to calm down and she get in the Perla bed with her puppies. We are leaving her alone much of the time. I only go in to feed her and change towels and puppy pads and if I absolutely have to get something in the room. She seems calmer when we aren't in there. This is her first litter and I wonder if she is just confused now and then. Has anyone had this behavior with a new mom? Thanks |
