Daycare

How many babies get to go to daycare? Ted is going his first time Monday I'm very nervous!

Mia goes to daycare and absolutely loves it. She's usually home with me so often times she goes so she can play. All we have to say is "want to go play with the puppies?" and she's running for the door.
When we pick her up, we always ask if she had a good day and they say Mia always has a good day! She loves to play!
I did take her to one place before her current daycare and never took her back. I just didn't have a good vibe. I felt terrible for leaving her there!

Mine did not care for day care. They don't seem to like spending time with other dogs. I am trying to introduce them to dogs and socialize them more, however, they are content just to be with Humans and the two of themselves. Wish they did love to play more.

Magnus is okay with it but Zoey hates it. She's not used to being around so many dog and she doesn't really like anyone (human/animals) other than her "pack". LOL I only use the daycare for emergency or if no one will be home with them all day.

I think Kaji hates it. I get report cards everytime he goes. He hides under the furniture the whole time, terrified of the people there. Yet, I take him to the dog park and he's a social butterfly.

Kaji has always been apprehensive towards strange humans he doesn't know. It seems worse when I'm not there.

I know Ted will love there, and there a lot more friends out there that waiting for him to meet.

Lu goes there now and again and loves it. As soon as she is out of the car and realises where she is, she is pulling on the lead to get to the front door and is whining with excitement

It's great for the dogs to get to play with other dogs. It really helps with their socialising and they come back totally tired and happy

Well the spoiled little prince has decided he's not going to daycare....dropped him off for his 2 hr meet and greet at a great place (I've looked into 2 different ones) and so I talked to one of the two owners about how he's not been socialized except stores and parks where he creepily sniffs other dogs till I have to make him stop. Anyways I leave him and no later than 30 mins after drop off she calls me to tell me he's curling his lips, shaking, and hiding from every human and dog! Luckily I live 5 mins away so it wasn't a big inconvenience but still I can't believe he's like that without me! I know he always wants to play with the wiener dog next door but our neighbor says he's too mean (he's walked casually over here before no signs of charging at Ted and I but I still picked Ted up in case since neither were chained)...long story short teddy will not go to daycare it's back to sitting in the window crying for me to come home then ignoring me and laying on the other side of any room I'm in

I've never taken mine to daycare before, but because I want Scottie and Casie to socialize with other dogs in an indoor environment, I join local small dog meetups (i.e. meetup.com). They're great! Usually it's on a weekend at a local pet store, where the humans and the dogs socialize. You could try that?

Scottie went once a month to these meetups, where initially he was SUPER shy. He'd hide his tail under and would just go to corners away from the other dogs. It took him about 1 year before his tail was up and was more comfortable around all the other dogs and people. Casie on the other hand, jumped and ran around the first time I took her there. She was partying and having a blast saying hello to everyone! It's the cutest thing..

Our boys are the same!
At dog parks/beach it's like "Bye mom!" And he runs off to play with all the pups. At daycare, he's hiding under the play furniture unwilling to go off and play with the others. On one hand, I wish he would like daycare so he could romp and play instead of being bored all day. On the other hand, he's saving me money so that's cool too.
