Our boys are the same!
At dog parks/beach it's like "Bye mom!" And he runs off to play with all the pups. At daycare, he's hiding under the play furniture unwilling to go off and play with the others. On one hand, I wish he would like daycare so he could romp and play instead of being bored all day. On the other hand, he's saving me money so that's cool too.
