For a female, you can cut a hole (up to where the tail will be exposed) in the part that covers the bum, leaving the edging that contains the snaps so that you will still be able to snap it. This will keep the onesie from sliding up but still allow them to go to the bathroom. Many here have used these for females after a spay. I had to resort to onesies for my little 8 year old Tomis who can be very naughty and leave me little gifts. I get newborn onesies at 2nd hand stores very cheaply and just cut a little slit for his tail - poopies stay in the onesie. He wears them all the time ... I think his former mom must have done the same cause he just lies quietly on his back while I snap them up after he's been out to do his business.

I have a large lizard called a Tegu. he weighs around 15 lbs. And he's an educational animal. I get onesies to cut into shirts for him, and hem them, and they are very cute. I have ones with little alligators on them.

I got the newborn size and they fit my Casie perfectly, who is 4lbs; think I'll cut & hem a little hole for her tail and she will wear it as a onesie. It also fits Scottie, who's 5.5lbs, but I'll have to cut off the end and turn it into a shirt.

But they're sooo cute!! I put it on both of them and they looked like they were having a PJ party!! I'm sure I will be buying more.

Walmart has the cutest onesies. Doesn't help that they are right across from the pet aisles in our WalMart supercenter.

Went to WalMart to get Gidget another newborn onesie and actually found a pkg of 3 preemie onesies. Much better fit around the body for Gidget. Glad I decided to look for some new onesies for her. She doesn't like to sleep in them so now I'm using them for her "everyday" dresses.
