| my new baby girl "MIA" Hello everybody I just joined the community as I will be picking up my baby girl this weekend. She is 9 weeks old, very little and she has fleas. I understand I should not put flea medicine on her, but somebody told me I could give her a bath with Dawn dish washer. What do you guys think about it? I do not want to hurt my girl, she is my first Jorkie and I've been waiting for her for years as I was not ready for that kind of commitment...but now I am! (FEELING SO HAPPY) You all have a great day. |

| Yes I've heard using warm water and Dawn, and a flea comb to pick out the bodies. Good luck!

| Hi, It's effective. I had use it with my baby(a golden ret) when he had flea. Add a little amount of vinegar and mix with water and it will do the trick. You have to let it soak within five minutes and rinse thoroughly. Just remember to be always gentle to her as she is just a pup and still a bit fragile. Also, you might want to put the mixture on a spray bottle and spray all over your house where fleas might live. Because there's a possibility that they will come back if there are some fleas left in your house. Just to make sure. Last edited by fauna; 05-16-2016 at 10:57 PM. Reason: typo |

| If you haven't pick her up yet the fleas wont be in your house so when you do pick her up go strait to the tub and bath, maybe call a vet and see what the have for fleas on a small dog you don't want them in your house or you will have a battle to go rid of them. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It really stinks that you have to give a bath immediately bc your kiddo is fragile at this young age and will be scared/anxious. Give a quick back and then dry immediately w/ a warm hair dryer.
