| Cooper's teeth Hello to you all and Happy Mother's Day! Well Cooper is now 9 months old and we finally got Cooper into a vet to get this teeth cleaned and some pulled. The vet said they named him Shark Mouth. They pulled 12 baby teeth out. She said she had to be very careful not to break any off. They were still tight. After pain meds and antibiotics he is a different dog. Playful, eating much better. I'm know that was why he mouth really smelled bad and he would not chew on chewy toys. I hope to get him interested in toys now. Anyhow my baby has a whole lot less teeth now! |

| I noticed Casie's mouth smells incredibly foul too. She's 7 months and I will be taking her into the vet to be spayed and remove remaining baby teeth too. I just read that during the teething stage, their breathe can be unbearably stinky. She constantly smells like poop, even though she's not eating poop! Wow! 12 baby teeth? I think Casie might have a similar shark mouth too. Would you mind if I ask you how much the cost was to remove all 12? I got a quote from my new vet that it'll be $25 per tooth. The previous vet I took Scottie removed an adult tooth and missed a baby tooth, so I don't want to go back to them; they charged by the minute...and it ended up costing quite a lot too.

| Canana, We decided to do a cleaning which included full xrays. That was 275.00 then it was 25.00 for each 10 minutes to remove the teeth. After it was all said and done, with the antibiotics and pain meds it came to 472.00. Spendy but I'm so happy for Cooper. The xrays covered his whole body (course he's only 3 pounds 8 ounces. They looked at his joints and he does have luxation I believe they called it. So down the road we will be looking at surgery I suppose. I have noticed that he is eating much more than I have ever seen him eat. He may gain some weight now. |

I actually asked outright as Chewie seemed just miserable while chewing. She gets super aggressive on the bone. One of the vets I absolutely adore told me to keep giving her those himalayan chews and the bully sticks. To encourage it often. It worked, let me tell you. She had 10 teeth herself. Now there are only four. Another molar fell out this evening, and one of her fangs is loose. I made it a special experience for us, I'll hold it and cuddle with her in the morning and again at night, and she'll chomp for an hour. She'll do it right after dinner as well for grooming. I don't know if this will help you or not, but let me tell you, my poor sweetie wouldn't even let any one touch her mouth, and now she's a lot happier. Teeth brushing is something that crazy pup has ALWAYS Loved- as she loves watching me do my routine. I'll even let her think she's flossing. Now she opens her mouth without a thought and even will tap at the toothbrush drawer. I don't smell foul breath, even though one of the teeth were definitely rotten that fell out. I think the brushing has a lot to do with it. Not that you don't brush her teeth, she's just happy to sit and let me be thorough. | |

| I just had my two 9 month Olds neutered and baby teeth pulled... my vet doesn't charge for pulling teeth if they are already under anesthesia for neutering.. Bruno needed 5 pulled and Zeus needed 4. Their breath was so disgusting prior to them coming out.. now back to kinda puppy breath.

Guess with the discomfort of the baby teeth gone, they're able to eat better!
