| Helping Moxie Move I rescued Moxie (3yr old yorkie) about 15 months ago and now we are leaving the only home we've ever known together for a cross country move. We left the apartment yesterday, we are in temporary housing now, going to a hotel tomorrow, getting on a plane wednesday night and arriving in our new house (with new people and roommates) that night. How do I ease the transition for her? I'm already worried about leaving her in the hotel alone so I can go to the doctor. She is has been very confused through the packing process and moving out and seems scared, shy, clingy, and on edge, poor baby. I think she wants to go home and go back to her routine of going to "her" park and knowing her surroundings. I am extremely stressed, busy, exhausted, and overwhelmed right now, and she has been glued to my side but that can't continue. I have to go place over the next two days without her. How to help her, especially over the instability of the next few days, and then when we reach our destination? |
