YT 2000 Club Donating Member | First time I"ve ever seen my boy scared. WE went to pick up Daddy last night from his new job. It is at a garden center so lots of lovely paths and outdoor stuff to sniff. It was dark and some employees were around. Hubby came up to say hi and Razzle went crazy barking at him. Poor boy I reassured him that it was Daddy but he was so fraught he did not seem to realize this. He might have been really insecure cause none of his pack was with him and it was dark. But Razz and \i have travelled all over the place with and without our pack with no issues at all. I will try again next time in the daylight Can't leave an experience like that to fester.....

| Poor Razzle! Maybe the different scents or something new that your husband was wearing threw him off? Teddy has barked at my dad a couple times when he was wearing something not typical for him.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Thanks Kristin. It might have been all the scents from the green growing stuff that blocked Dads scent- plus the darkness and the newness of the place. But come to think of it even once n awhile Dara our young one will bark at Dad or sis when they come up or downstairs in the dark. Somehow they all seem to want to protect me. I think they get that from Magicman our senior boy who ^protects me all the time. Although Magic has never guarded against sis or Dad... Magic does make it hard to train Dara for my service dog in the house. He gets impatient when she does not seem to know the commands. He watches then he pushes past her to walk with me and or to hold me. You can almost see him shaking his head and saying *really* you don't know this yet? Moms needs this Now! I have to crate Magic in the house to train Dara....He is a pretty spoiled boy in some ways.

I bet it was the darkness, the new place and new scents. When I took Teddy to visit dad in the hospital one night (and Teddy is dad's little buddy), Teddy was so scared and wanted nothing to do with dad. I'm sure Razzle will learn to love picking up his dad at the new place.

I can get an eye exam for about $70 at the shows with opthamologists versus a private appointment about $300 or so. Hubby who is working late said don't bring the pups the lighting is weird and we don't want to scare anyone. Razzle did ok in the light when I brought him back to the garden center,,,,
