| ![]() Well, I don't really try to "sneak" mine in because they are legally allowed to go anywhere I go since they are service dogs, but I also try not to make it a big deal so I am discreet. If anyone says anything to me I simply inform them that they are service animals and that is usually all it takes for them to leave us alone. I have had occasions however, one was a restaurant in Santa Barbara, where we tried to sit outside but the host sat other people there who arrived after us, and they were not going to allow us to go inside until I asked to speak to the manager and gave him a copy of the Service Animals in Businesses FAQ sheet (which I try to have w.me at all times) put out by the US Justice Dept. We were then promptly seated. I was also asked to leave a See's Candy Store and I didn't have the FAQ sheet but I simply told the 2 employees who complained that my dog was legally allowed to be there as a service animal. I made my ourchase and left. I use a dog stroller too which is great for transport!! ![]() |

| ![]() SoCal-I didn't know they were service dogs. Which one(s) and what service do they provide? (Sorry guys, I really know very little info about this.) How do you train them? It amazes me that seeing-eye dogs know what they know. Ie, when it is OK to actually cross the road vs when their just aren't any cars coming ![]() |

| ![]() Edie has been on planes, trains and buses (without paying), in a casino, in a hospital, stores galore (Target, the mall, Home Depot), and dozens of restaurants. SHe has stayed overnite in hotels where dogs were not allowed. She has been to the Hoover Dam (there are 'no pets' signs EVERYWHERE, don't ask me why) , |

| ![]() Where I live our Yorkie's are pretty much aloud every where except the Grocery store, and indoor resturants, hospital, the obvious. The only place i know their not aloud but i brought them in without a carrier (so it was obvious) was the Grocery store and no one said anything. I'v brought them into Mr Sub and Subway (places like that) but it was just to make a sub and then leave (i didn't eat in there).

| ![]() Socal... do they give you some kind of card to show as proof, in case someone questions it,and you need to prove to them it's true? And have you ever had anyone doubt you, on it? Or give you a hard time? ![]()

| ![]() Yes, ....all of mine are service dogs or are in training to be service dogs. It is really a life long training process and has wonderful benefits for the dog and the owner. Small breeds make the best service dogs because they are so easy to travel with and yorkies are a very popular breed for service dogs, but my Westie and my standard poodle are service dogs also. There are a lot of threads on YT that give all of the info. Here is one link:http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...t=service+dogs When you read the thread you will see that some people had a problem with me talking about service dogs for some reason that I do not fully comprehend so I am a little shy about it now ![]() ![]() |

Service Yorkies? Cool. What service do they perform? Do you usually put that yellow vest-thing on them?

| ![]() KiKi 's been to alot of places, there are times I sneak her in, but there are times people just love her and let in, one time I got really angry because I took her to the Galleria ( a hugh mall in houston) and I was asked to leave but then the very next day I see like people do the same thing walking around.... |

| ![]() Harley goes pretty much everywhere. He has a carrier and a stroller. We use the stroller more just because people think he's an actual baby so it doesn't draw much attention. Although we did get stopped at Walmart trying to go in I didn't have his carrier or his stroller. I didn't want to leave him in the car especially since I was only going in for one thing. The lady acted as if she didn't see me and said that's fine hurry. You know some people always try to make it difficult if only she had done that from the start I would have been out quicker.
