Senior Yorkie Talker | Once loved, but not so good anymore..... Hi there! Curious & concerned mommy.... So I have my Bella who is 1yr 6 mos & My Chase who just turned 1! They have been on the same puppy food for about 8-9 mos now and just last week Bella could not get enough of it! They are free fed and do not ever over indulge, they only eat when hungry but last week they could not get enough of it.... The minute I put their food down it was gone! I could not keep up! Into a new bag And they would not touch! Both smell and walk away.... This lasted two days, I went out and purchased another bag as I have read something or other about bad batches....same brand and same reaction??? Why all of a sudden? I have been boiling chicken breast for a week now and mixing it in with their food... They devour the chicken breast and seem to leave the rest behind? I even doused the kibble with chicken broth in hopes of making it more appealing to no avail. I know switching foods is a transition.... I'm totally willing to do but for now I'm stumped! Any suggestions, feedback, info will be much appreciated! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wow, really weird!! Did the company change the formula or something...? That's the only thing I can think of. What are you feeding? You could also try sprinkling Parmesan cheese on their food as that's quite enticing.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi there Wylie's Mom I feed them the "Simply Nourish" chicken & brown rice small breed puppy dog food. When they hear the bag they get super excited... Running circles, wagging tails & when served... Smell & walk away |

Senior Yorkie Talker | My last post got snipped! I usually give them some veggies and boiled chicken breast a few times a month and now everyday so they eat! Thank you for the parm cheese info! I will most definitely try this! I am not so sure at this point a transition in food will work since it requires their current kibble too! Should I try this, any suggestions? Mine so very sensitive sometimes it scares me to have to introduce them to something new Thank you! |

| My boy is older then your babies (he was 3.5 y/o) , but I went through this last year. For 18 months he was eating Natural Balance limited ingredient, it comes in a variety of dif. meats, kangaroo, rabbit, venison etc. every 4 months I would change to a dif.meat. Then one day he sniffs and walks away, next day the same thing, I sprinkled the Parmesan cheese on the food and he ate it.The next day I got him a dif. meat same thing, again sprinkle the Parmesan cheese, again he eats it. It's a good thing Pet Supplies takes back open bags lol. I too had the same transition situation. I purchased a bag of Welness Core to see if he would eat that, and yes he did, so what I did to transition him over was gave him the food he would ONLY eat with the Parmesan cheese sprinkled on it in one dish, when he finished that I gave him the wellness is a separate dish and transitioned him that way. This is what worked for me. Good luck.

| IDK, Cody is NOT a fussy eater, he'll eat anything, so I was quite taken back when he refused to just NOT eat. Thank goodness the first bag of new food (Wellness) he ate, I was getting embarrassed bringing open bag of food back to Pet Supply every day lol.
