| Scottie has a new baby sister, Casey :) So Scottie's baby 5 mo old sister Casey finally came home this past long weekend. We've been waiting for months and feel so excited/nervous/anxious/happy she's finally here! Oh and she's a doll! Very different from Scottie when I first got him, but the cutest little thing ever. I can't help to compare them, but she's very confident (Scottie was/is super timid),Being a new mom to two dogs, I was super stressed out the past 4-5 days (despite reading about getting dogs to bond and the transition period being sometimes weeks or even months). But I kept worrying about Scottie and how he was backing away whenever she was around. He's super passive and just lets her be. The first two days, he wouldn't touch anything she touched and at first wouldn't let me touch him after she licked my hands. At night he ended up sleeping in the washroom, as far away from her as possible. It was kind of very depressing and I worried so much about him. Luckily, with some training efforts, by day 4 he has finally gotten used to and accepted the fact that she's around to stay. Now, they're able to stand and sit next to each other (he was afraid to be within a couple meters earlier and would scurry away like she was a deadly animal every time she was nearby!). The past two nights, they've even started playing a few times when either of them were bored So now comes the potty training headache. I had some trouble with crate training Scottie - he was a loud headache but he was able to hold it in with time. With the amount of water she's drinking, she's peeing so much it's not possible to crate train her effectively at this point (as I did with Scottie who was also 5 mo old when I first got him). She ends up peeing inside the crate. So I've unwillingly started to use pee pads - no choice. I really didn't want to use it because my home is really small and Scottie has already learned it's 100% not okay to potty indoors. Today is my first day back at work and I've isolated her area completely so Scottie can't see what she's doing. Because I've been worrying so much I set up a monitoring cell phone app - it's called PresencePro in case you're wondering . Kind of makes me worry even more! I saw that she started chewing up the pee pad and I think was eating the chewed up bits. Gosh, I'm so worried she's going to get sick! I need to buy a pee pad holder asap. Also, I've noticed that she licks a lot. Not so much herself, but everything else. I can't walk around without slippers anymore because she follows me and constantly licks my foot and my legs. When not licking me, she's licking the floor and furniture. My breeder didn't notice any excessive licking when she was in their home and their vet told them it's probably not health related. Anyone else experience this? Is it some kind of strange anxiety habit? She seems super calm and relaxed. Totally made herself at home already. Anyway. Thanks for reading. I'm an anxious worried mom all over again! ahhh puppies...

| They are both adorable!! I'm glad that they are adjusting to each other. It sounds like you are doing everything right. Once she is potty trained, they should be able to hang out together during the day. Just enjoy the puppy time. It will be over before you know it!

| Casey is gorgeous! She looks quite a lot like my little Sebastian. Maybe she has a little cousin in California? Congratulations and good luck!

| Congratulations! Casey is beautiful. She and Scottie make a perfect pair. Licking: normal behavior, probably brought on by all of the new scents in her new home. She will likely give it up fairly quickly. Piddle pad chewing: Max scared me with that too! Luckily he grew out of it quickly.

Nothing beats two Yorkies constantly barking when trying to do a low-key dog walk. They just freak out so easily. I'm the crazy lady who's constantly talking to my dogs whenever other people with or without dogs walk by lol...

Oh, good to hear about the growing out of the licking and the pee pad chewing. That is so comforting to know! I now call her Kissy Casey. Yesterday I had to splurge and bought a huge box of pee pads and a tray holder thing. I'm still trying to get her to potty outside though. Two very sleepless nights so far. Hoping it won't last more than a couple months. I'm like a zombie during the day! For now, she definitely has to pee on the pad during the day though. Hopefully I can switch her to all outdoor potty later on. I wonder if girls are harder to potty train?

| Thanks everyone else Sorry for my long new-mom ramble lol Just an update: last night Scottie and Casey played really hard! To the point where Scottie started panting, which he almost never does! It's just the cutest thing to ever watch. It seems they'll only play when they find me too boring and I'm ignoring them...hehe... I'm so relieved they're getting along. So I guess it's true, it takes at least a week for two dogs to bond Now, I'm just waiting patiently until they're bonding to the point where they'll cuddle in bed.

| Happy to hear they are getting along and playing! Max stil will not allow Teddy to snuggle with him to sleep. Poor Teddy, he has to pretend to wrestle Max in bed first, then coyly lie down beside him. It's a rare scene. If I say "awww," Max is embarrassed, grunts, and gets up to leave. It is so funny seeing 2 interact. They will settle in and you will return to your regular sleeping. You are off to a great start!
