| Alright, I need help. Must be a yorkie talk day for me. Um, Chewie LOVES squeaky toys, so I thought, look! a bacon scented ball. I left that out plus her edible bones. She's been whimpering with all three of these toys, and kept taking one, putting it one place, and I watched her bury that exact same bone in my blanket. I read that she's anxious because they are her favorite toys and she wants to bury them. What do I do? She's kinda upset. do I take them away? it's JUST with these toys, and she wanted to play ball with her rope ball, UNTIL my husband got the purple squeaky ball.. so she's back to whimpering. edited to add, I promise he loves her lots, lol. He was just trying to play with her and didn't know the ball was one of the anxious toys. Last edited by JennaPenny; 03-18-2016 at 03:03 PM. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If it were me, I'd probably try waiting this out a bit. I remember Wylie doing this as a pup too and even though part of it may involve some anxiety, he also really loved burying and unburying his toys - and getting the attention for it too - bc we'd ooooh and aaaah when he'd bring one of his buried toys out, and he'd just LOVE it. Over time, that anxiety wore off for him. But yeah, they can realllly develop favorites, for sure!

| Omg is that what it means when they try to bury toys/chews? Lol I had no idea. After Beowulf got his baby teeth pulled out the Vet gave me some dental chews for him and he got this one that I guess he really loved because he would try to bury it. I never seen him do that before. Then my bf cousin brought his pitbull in the house so I put my baby in his playpen and the pitbul got a hold of his dental chew LOL poor guy I should buy him some more of those since he liked it so much.

| My now passed baby girl Matese buried toys in the back yard, then would dig it up and bury it some place else. She had MANY ropes of dif. sizes that she would also bury. If she could have had her way ALL her toys would have been buried in the yard. After she dug one up she would want to bring that dirty, leaf filled toy back in the house, I would tell her "NOT IN THE HOUSE" I have a pic in my album with her eyes begging me to let her bring it in lol , she would go back and bury it again. So I ended up with inside and out side toys lol. If she did manage to sneak a buried toy in I would tell her NOT IN THE HOUSE, she would take it out and bury it lol. Her new toys when she tried to take one out I would tell her NO THAT STAYS IN THE HOUSE and she would drop it. She would spend the entire day every day, burying and digging up and reburying her toys. To me that was her entertainment when not hunting. Whoops, the begging eyes pic ended up in my Avatar.
