| Help with new baby yorkie! We got an adorable female Yorkie about 6 months ago. She has been the queen of the house. She is very spoiled and gets tons of attention. Last weekend we got a little baby boy Yorkie from same breeder. He is very, very small. The older Yorkie is playing way too rough with the little one and he is continually yipping because the other one is too rough. My vet's office said they are just figuring out their boundaries. I am worried that the baby is going to get hurt. Nellie doesn't seem to be playing mean...she just doesn't realize that the baby cannot play like her. Any advice to get us though this period safely... |

| You are right to be concerned...you can not allow larger yorkies to rough house with small, itty bitty babies.....the baby WILL INDEED get hurt....perhaps totally unintentially, but hurt none the less. Do not allow them to be together unsupervised.....that baby will get hurt! |

| I totally agree with you, Yorkiemom. I didn't care for the vets office response. It didn't make sense. My older Yorkie doesn't realize that the baby can't play as rough as she thinks, and yes, the baby is going to get hurt. I will watch them when they are together every second and I think I am going to get a little tough on the older pup when she starts playing too rough. |

| I agree with Yorkiemom1. Now would be the time to teach your female what the word easy or gentle means also no if she doesn't know that yet.
