| Too Much Sleep My 3 month old yorkie puppy ever since yesterday has been sleeping for about half the day. Is this normal for this age? |

| I've read that at this age they sometimes sleep 18 hours a day. Sure isnt the CASE with my 9 week old! She will take the occasional power snooze thru-out the day. I think that is what keeps her going at her non-stop pace........ |

| Im pretty sure that is normal. I have a 6 week old puppy and she sleeps 90% of the day lol. So sleeping that much at 9 weeks is normal (18 hours I've read that they sleep) |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Normal has a wide range at that age. what I am used to seeing in pups of 12wks old or so - is some intense play and then a nap and if nothing else interesting is going on they will nap a couple of hours - then up and usually out for toilet and some more running around. They will nap after their walks and or a play session. If I am up n about cleaning or cooking they usually want to be in the room that I am in - either watching or helping or sometimes napping. Is she really sleeping or just restiing? ie does her head swivel around to watch you or is she basically out for the count?

| Yes, perfectly normal! Enjoy the down time. It goes away for a while when they get to be about a year or so!
