| my Yorky is kind of big My Yorky Ringo differentiates from the rest because is big ... I don't care if it's the official standard weight or not, my husband and I are crazy for him I just want to be sure that he is not overweight, he is now 11 pounds But in size and structure he is big, I'm just worry about if we need to do something about his diet or is fine More or less he is twice the size of a 9 pound Yorky I attach I picture for a better idea how is he Thanks |

| I have two very lean Yorkies in the range of 14.5 - 15.5 lbs. It's not a problem and you don't need to do anything special with his diet. They just eat a little more than a standard size Yorkie.

| Ahhh, he is a cutie! I rescued a two year old yorkie (he's in my avatar picture). He weighed around 12 pounds but was skinny and under weight and had health issues that we were unaware of. Now 14 months later he is healthy and tops the scale at 15.1 pounds and is a sturdy muscular little guy. His weight is perfect for his body size and frame. Your vet should be able to tell you whether he is a good weight for his body frame, but I suspect he is just fine. Diana |

| This is a good reference when trying to figure out if your furry needs a diet. How Do I Determine if My Dog is Overweight? |

| He's very cute! You can determine if he is fit or overweight by looking over the top of him. It helps to do this during a bath if he is esp fluffy. He should have a definite waist where you see it curves in after the rib cage. Also looking from the side, after the rib cage you should def see a tuck up towards the back. If not, then he is a little overweight. If you can see the waist, then he's all good.

| Oh he's so handsome, almost reminds me of our past male yorkie, Mick. Yeah my current furbaby Kimchi is a tad over weight, not obese thankfully, but she could lose a few pounds ^^; She's last weighed in border-lining 13lbs (I could feel a bit of fat over her upper ribs, but strangely her lower ribs seem almost lean), but me and the vet agrees she should be around 9-10lb, give or take. She's also very fluffy right now since I've let her hair grow out for winter. It's the longest it's ever been ^^;; and it makes her look fat or bigger cause she's a cotton coat. She has somewhat of a waist, but when she lays down it all looks so pudgy as her body "spreads" some when she lays down lol When she lays on her back she reminds me of a fuzzy little turkey XD
