| CKC to AKC My baby is registered as ckc but I've been wantingto register him as akc as he is pure bred yorkie. Not for showing or breeding but because ckc is for any breed and I want him to be registered as pure bred yorkie akc. How would I accomplish the switch? |

| Is the CKC registration with the highly respected Canadian Kennel Club, or is it the less respected Continental Kennel Club? If it is the Canadian Kennel Club, you are in luck....the standards for registration in the Canadian Kennel Club, is beyond reproach....highly respected and very desirable. There will be no problem with cross registry.....CKC requirements for registration are actually tougher than the AKC requirements.... The Continental Kennel Club has very low requirements/standards for registration and you will not be able to upgrade to AKC from that registry. Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 01-21-2016 at 08:08 PM. |

This is very disappointing. I didn't know the difference between them and the only paper work the breeder gave me was for the continental club. Well it doesn't matter I suppose because I'm not breeding him or showing him. It was just something I wanted to upgrade. Thankyoufor your help. | |
