Received a sick puppy Well I guess I have learned my lesson about buying a puppy. I was looking for a black and tan parti female and found one on Puppyfind...Please don't shoot me...I realized it was a bad idea the minute I sent a deposit. For some reason I thought the puppy was coming from Arizona. My mistake! She was coming from Arkansas. When they made arrangements to ship her she was supposed to leave on a Saturday and get to me on Sunday. I didn't like that but it got worse. When I got the shipping receipt she was scheduled to get here on Monday. I was very upset and I called the shipper and spoke with them. They assured me, just as the breeder did that she would be fine. A week before she came the breeder sent me a new updated picture. She didn't look well to me and I asked if I could talk to her Vet when she brought her in to be checked the day before she was to leave. The Vet said she was fine. I was still uneasy about it. I picked her up at the airport on Monday 12/21 in the late afternoon. On the way home she was making gagging noises and the smell was so awful I had to crack a window. I called my vet as soon as I walked in the door. It was after hours but he met me to check her out. She was sick. She had like a kennel cough. He gave her a shot and she was put on antibiotics. I worked very hard to keep my other pups safe from this. She stayed upstairs away from my pups. I wore some old slippers in the room with her that I didn't wear out of the room. I washed my hands and even changed my clothes after holding her and cleaning up after her. 9 days later I was back at the Vet with her and my male and one of my females. The pupppy had to go on another antibiotic and by the time New Year's Eve rolled around I had 5 out of 6 of my dogs on antibiotics. This included my old Golden Retriever. I am also sick with some kind of respiratory thing but I was told I didn't get it from her and it was probably because I was so stressed and worn out from dealing with all of this. The breeder will take no responsibility for any of this. I have been in touch with the shippers because they are the ones who put a sick puppy on a plane. They may reimburse me for my vet bills...maybe. I wrote a review on puppyfind but it was taken down until I send my vet's letter and other documentation which I did on Thursday. I have learned a huge lesson here. I am not sure if there is anything else I can do but what should have been an exciting happy Holiday with a new puppy just didn't happen. I just hope everyone including myself gets better soon. Thanks for listening!

| So sorry for you, sort of. I'm very sorry you got a sick puppy. Why did you purchase a puppy from an unknown place on the internet rather than seek out a know and respected breeder in your own region?

I couldn't find anyone with a parti yorkie anywhere near me. I got my other two females from a breeder near me who is now a friend of mine but she doesn't have parti puppies and I found my parti male in Connecticut but I couldn't find a female.

I'm so sorry you had to go through this. You are a very loving mama and she is lucky to have you as are your other babies. I hope you all get better soon so that you can enjoy your new baby and not deal with the stress. It's stressful enough when you have a new babe.

My father always said, "We are all human....we all make mistakes....but STUPID is making the SAME mistake TWICE!!" I think like many, many of us, you have learned from your mistake....that is a good thing....that is how we learn and grow. Take comfort in that knowledge! You wont go down this path again! Praying for you and all your babies....you sound like you have a handful now, with sick darlings. Praying it all gets better very soon for all of you and your household!

Thank you! I have totally learned my lesson. At least little Rosie will have a good loving home here with me and my husband. I am taking good care of them all and hopefully they will all be 100% better soon.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | So sorry to hear of this very tough lesson. But I do want to hope for the best for your new addition to the fam nonetheless ! So does she have kennel cough then? If yes, she probably contracted it due to receiveing the KC vaccine itself...just fyi...

Especially if she was given the nasal instilled vaccine....it is the live virus as opposed to a killed virus protection given via injection....this is why it makes so many of our dogs sick, a "little secret" my vet shared with me, that most vets will not admit to....especially if all they give is the nasal option. When I was taking all this kiddos to have them groomed, I always made sure they received the injectable dosing.....had to change vets once because they just did not give the injectable anymore....but I have long since stopped taking my dogs off my property, they are not around other dogs, so they do not get that anymore at all.

Her records say she had her vaccination in november but I don't know if it was nasal or shot. My Vet gives the vaccine and all my pups have had the vaccine but it didn't protect them from whatever this is. Only one of my dogs didn't come down with it but I notice my pups are getting better faster than the new puppy who had to be on a second round of a different antibiotic. They are all getting better and I am very glad. They were running around the house playing all morning. I had done some training with my male and plan to do another 6 week class in March. I would like him to be a therapy dog. He has the best personality. i just love these pups so much. they make me laugh every day. Thank you for all the support!!!

I too got a puppy for an early Christmas present, but she didn't make it. She died of parvo on 1/1/16 after 6 days of trying to save her. The breeder,Terry Castonguay, of littlebieweryorkies.com denied responsibility and disconnected her number and shut down her website. You can still bring up the website but the contact information no longer works. Please pass the word that this breeder is nothing but a small puppy mill
