| what color will he be????....the suspense!!!!.. Our lil guy is 4 months old and just as perfect as can be......when we got him he was Black all over with just a little tan on his feet.....he had a little white patch of hair on his chest but nothing really major.....his Dad has NEVER changed colors although his Dad has a Silky Long Show Dog Length Coat he stayed Black and Tan.....my lil Guys Mom is the traditional Steel Blue/Gold coloring.......i really didn't have any concern of my baby changing colors......especially because he was SO DARK when we got him.......he has a Beautiful Coat for a 4 month old pup.....i knew it would grow long and Silky but just didn't think it would change because he was the same color as his Dad........well out of the blue one day we looked at him and now his head and face is turning a Silver/White color.....and on his shoulders you can start to see some Gray Roots......we dont want to jump the gun but does that mean he will Indeed change to the color of his Mom???.....i know alot of you have Experience with this so if you can....please share your knowledge with me.......if you have had a Yorkie that looks like mine what color did they end up being.......Can't wait to hear....thanks in advance.....oh and there's plenty of pic's of my lil man in his picture album |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome to YT . I think it's totally impossible to predict coloring...so I can't add anything on that front.

| Hi all i got to say is that my little girl was very dark at 12 weeks, now she is 6 months and her color has changed a lot...since your baby is still very young anything can happen...my girl has a lot of tan and black still...but her facial hair is all tan now...her back has also silver roots growing...her mom and dad are the same color as what you described from your babys parents....i hear they can change colors even after 1 year old...

| I think it must exciting not to know for certain week-to-week what color(s) he'll be sporting. So many changes to come, in all ways, yes?! Keep us posted with pictures as to his changes. |

| My Lexi had a body that was mainly black & black & tan face at 12 weeks. Her body turned to the blue-black & her face is now golden. Her body hair is still changing at 4 years! Now, she has a lot of silver growing in with the blue-black. Is it a never ending change of colors??

| I thought Winnie was going to be silver because she had a lot of silver coming as a baby....but she has stayed dark. She won't be 2 until May so I guess she could still change in color lol

| I had always been told that you can tell by the color of their eye shine. No idea if its correct, but my two do have different colors. Gwenni has a greenish eye shine and she is black and Finni has a yellowish eye shine and he's blue.

| Hi, when I got my puppy they showed me the mom and dad and told me that it takes up to 2 years for their color to complete if it is going to go silver. My puppy is 6 months old and only her face is changing right now. Enjoy your puppys 1st christmas! |
